New rule. Congress members do not get paid for the time they let the government close. Not back paid later, straight up docked for the time period.

It is a Constitutional right that they continue to be paid during a shut down. Unless we change the Constitution, they will always be paid.

@FoxyQueen It is the shutdown itself that is wrong. It didnt exist under Reagan had a "reinterpretation" of the Constitution bought into force for his own purposes.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman You know, when you have a situation like we have currently, sometimes, shutting down is the only form of protest on that level that may be more productive than staying open.

Unfortunately the protest is at the detrimemt of workers.

@FoxyQueen I completely agree. But like everything in US politics, this shutdown has been weaponized by those who can afford not to get a paycheck for a few weeks against those who cant..😷
