Exactly. And the government can feed how many elderly disabled people and veterans and or ensure them but that is too expensive but we can give $1,000 to every single newborn baby for the next 4 years

@SunshineGirl maybe so but nowhere doesn't say he's giving up his Hobby does it? Nor does it say any of them are. So when you measure cutting off many needy people of adult age versus people who are brand new born who don't even need money yet to shop good I'm sure you can do the math

@KingofBones1 I'd like to fund both groups if it helps reduce poverty. If I have to choose between them, children are a longer term investment for the furure.

It's in the works, just be patient.

@nudistsueaz Aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail It gets better every day 🙂

Only $0.76 per person per day? That right?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@ArishMell Meals on wheels program does it for that price. It's funding was cut BTW.
They as well get donations in addition to government funding. Yet it primarily relies on government funding.
Cut the government funding, you basically cut the program. Meals on wheels was sponsored by Congress.

Trump can cut the funding legally without permission of Congress.
This needs to be rectified with a ⅔rds vote. This Congress would never have the votes.

Yes, the Meals on Wheels program is known for providing meals at a very low cost, often cited around $0.76 per person per day.
This program typically relies on a combination of government funding and private donations to operate.
However, funding cuts can significantly impact their ability to serve the community, as they often depend heavily on government support to maintain their services.
The program aims to deliver nutritious meals to seniors and individuals in need, helping to combat food insecurity and promote health among vulnerable populations.
Meals on Wheels programs receive significant support from Congress through federal funding, particularly under the Older Americans Act, which helps provide meals and services to seniors in need.
This funding is crucial for addressing issues like senior hunger and isolation across the country.

@DeWayfarer Thankyou for explaining it. Most prices I have seen on here quoting food costs in the USA refer to ordinary shops and cafeterias.
The Meals-On-Wheels system uses voluntary staff, I take it?

@ArishMell Yes, as well as volunteer delivery.
Must emphasize, it's more than just a food delivery service. It as well insures the well being of the isolated senior. With some it's the only contact they get on a regular basis.
They cut the funding, they cut the organization where the volunteers gather. So anyone else in such need would be excluded, even if the volunteers keep it up. It takes central location planning and warehouses cost money.
