You understand the whole world was already assessing tariffs on American goods and this is just a way to level the playing field, right? Used as policy tariffs are a disaster. Used as a short-term weapon, tariffs are effective.
Well let's see we've already gone through inflation that was 400% on most food items over the last 4 years. But I never once heard you complain about Joe Biden.
@dale74 They do affect the poor most harshly, which is why it is important to retain the social security net to catch the most vulnerable. But prices of these commodities are affected by economic shocks (bird flu, war in Ukraine) that national politicians can only react to, not control.
As a matter of fact I know I've got at least six cousins three of which don't work at all live in government housing and receive all of the benefits. I have another cousin in his wife who received food stamps and free health insurance from the government yet he runs an auto shop out of his house and told me he normally does about 200,000 a year doesn't report any of it his wife does work but most of hers is home health and she works for several wealthy people who basically pay her out of pocket so they literally report next to no income
No. Thats not it. Trump has never made money in business. He inherited wealth, spent it borrowed more. spent it, borrowed more, spent it, until no one would lend him more. Then he sold his cash cow business and went into TV. And since then he has lent (for a fee off the top) his brand to dozens of get rich quick schemes,Most of which have failed..Even trump tower is in the red..😷
@Baremine I made a lot in the market. The day after Election Day I transferred everything to money markets because I knew there was turmoil coming in stocks. Of course the cost of living increased for me during the Biden presidency but, for me, that was more than offset by stock market gains. I think the cost of everyday life is about to get worse so hang on for the ride.
