Anyone here buying into the 'sovereign citizen' mantra aka cult ?

Soooo many fun vids on youtube of sov cit arrests and court hearings where cops and judges don't take their 'i am above the law' bullshit. I bet in the USA almost all of them would be Trump supporters.

Who here subscribes to the 'sovereign citizen' mantra and doesn't have a license, or registration for their vehicle, and is only ever 'traveling' not driving, etc.???

It's a valid point of view. We each have ultimate control of our own actions. Governments traditionally suppress our natural rights. It is not surprising that a free citizen resisting the corrupt control of an invalid political system would be met with shock, horror, and revulsion by the operators of such a system. We are all "Sovereign" citizens, most of us just keep it on the downlow in order to survive!

@GerOttman Rejecting government control is a theme of recent American history which seems to have become a lens through which to view the rest of the world. It certainly has its place, given the circumstances under which that nation was created and evolved, but it is not the whole picture. Labelling all government as essentially corrupt and authoritarian ignores the cooperative and creative efforts of ordinary people and the reasons why they may have decided to cede some of their "sovereignty" in the first place.

@SunshineGirl I would like to think that, you would like to think that. A careful reading of thousands of years of political history tells a different story however. Perhaps you're right, maybe this >is< the golden age of political enlightenment. I remain a skeptic however.

Uh oh, unearned elitism alert!
It's funny how they only reject their duties and never their rights. If they don't want anything to do with other people, they should stay off public roads, out of hospitals, etc. too.
