The government owes me!!!

The government owes me too for all the hardships my ancestors who I never met went through!

I want people that had no part in their hardships to pay for the hardships of my ancestors they owe me because well not all of the people that had ancestors endured the hardships seem to have been held back. Still i think money will make the past go away!
What I don’t want is my behaviors to affect my life or those who come after I pass that had the same hardships happen to their ancestors. I might have turned out different

Do you think that sounds convincing enough?

With inflation calculated, from what the government has stolen from me over the past 28 years for things I do not support at all, plus a little pain and suffering consolation I could colonize Jupiter, and make Elon Musk look like the wel-fare queen he is.

@checkoutanytime Anyway, at the end of the day:
You should get outraged at red states. 🤔
checkoutanytime · 41-45, M
@Elessar at the end of the day authoritarian disbelief is evil. Free will is Freedom.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@checkoutanytime It's not me the one here simping for authoritarians, dude.
Elessar · 26-30, M
Well, you're paying "reparations" to corporations that claimed to have registered a profit loss in 2020, in the form of greedflation, I suppose that was convincing enough for you to keep voting Republican
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Elessar LOL, and look who you voted for.

Elessar · 26-30, M
@sunsporter1649 I didn't vote in America, dude 😜
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Elessar And everyone who is here is very thankful for that

Lack of generational wealth still affects people and so do the effects of redlining. The government should do something but not cash pay outs that would not be effective or helpful at all.
@Gloomy Universal Basic Income has been very successful where it's been tried. We essentially just need to reduce the wealth gap. We can do that with UBI and free health care.
I identify as a millionaire.
And I feel the tax payer should make my bank account reflect my true inner self?

I will not stand this systematic oppression

whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Almost perfect. I assume you are also suing your parents for giving birth to you without your permission or any consultation...😷
I'm all for reparations for anyone who was a slave in 1865 and is still alive.

California was never a slave state to begin with, so I see no need for reparations.
@BohemianBabe capitalism isn't a human right.
MethDozer · M
@independentone very few billionaires worked hard for their wealth.

Here's a fact. When we as a nation were at our most propsperous, most distributed, leading in a manufacturing and technology development. We were taxing the shit out of the rich at a rate of 90% over 3 million dollars. The rich atill existed, they still had mansions and yachts. Everyone was winning.

Taxing the rich doesn't stifle productiona and development.... it encourages it.
@MethDozer I was thinking of Gates, Bezos, Steve Jobs, Hewlett and Packard, who started in their garage and other mostly tech giants.
Sure a lot of it is generational wealth, but that wealth was originally created by hard work and a good idea.
calicuz · 56-60, M
No, try harder.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@calicuz i agree!
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
I found a solution to the problem. Since my European ancestors took the land from my indigenous ancestors the only way I could be equitable is I took money from my left pocket and put it in my right pocket and called it even.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
And just like that a couple of councilpersons in Colorado now want to impose a white business tax

Yes. The systems that exploited your ancestors affect you today. We don't have equality of opportunity, we have opportunity based on birth. While true equality is impossible, the government can at least try to build a more level playing field.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@BohemianBabe that’s too funny! So do you think they will pay me or do I pale in comparison to others?
@specman Well unfortunately the government is still very conservative on social welfare. So I'm guessing no.
Writing you a check...
Carissimi · F
Not unless you fit into their identity hierarchy.
Northwest · M
I'm sure you think your thoughts are coherent. They are not.

I love how conservatives are getting all threatened over the thought of perhaps righting a historical wrong, even if it was symbolic.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@Northwest I am asking about my ancestors who had hardships . i can trace them back.

@specman
I am asking about my ancestors who had hardships

That's really amazing. You have ancestors, who were either sold as slaves, or were the personal property of a Americans? You should definitely add your name to the list.

That is unless you mean that your ancestors suffered strained wrist injuries, as a result of whipping their slaves into shape.

Otherwise, even you, should realize that your strawman is beyond ridiculous.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@Northwest I am Talking about hardships in life in general.

why do you keep bringing up slavery?

@jshm2 human rights imply government responsibilities. But Americans don't abide by rules - they're criminally aggressive but in charge, everywhere.
akindheart · 61-69, F
oh yeah. put me on that list.
Graylight · 51-55, F
Do you try to be this vapid?
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Money makes it allllll better!
Universal entitlements can stop the struggle and the inequality.
Nobody thinks Americans are avoiding entitlements for any good reasons. They're sadistic.
