Anyone know about the Biden Loan forgiveness?

I still have college loans, but unsure if you have to be employed currently. Then it said something about they are allowing unemployed employees but only unemployed because of pandemic?? I didnt follow it.

An appellate court has put a halt to this robbery of the taxpayers.
Carissimi · F
And all those he pardoned are still in jail, and not being released He’s one of those “all talk, no action,” guys. @Reason10
@Reason10 I like the way you expressed that!
What does he think he is? Some kind of fucking “ Robin Hood” robbing the rich and giving to the deadbeats?

I think its like the suddenly declining gas prices. The promise is only good till after the midterms.
Smurfy · 26-30, F
They are now being challenged in court, potato brain never had the right to do what he did when he signed an executive order to try to allow this to happen, only congress can vote on such a thing
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Smurfy so, I cant apply regardless?

@Coralmist Do whatever you want

Anyone know about the Biden Loan forgiveness?

Biden has made the promise.
Biden also promised to get all Americans out of Afghanistan.

Not that law means much to the democrats, but only Congress can spend money.
So far they haven't passed a bill.

So, vote republican.
You still won't get loan forgiveness, but you will live in a free country!
apparently it passed by 2 votes.. - Brandon

lolz 🍿

republicans will smash it on the head.
Carissimi · F
I think it was reversed. Just like all the pardons he gave, yet the people are still in jail, and not getting out. It sounds good (to some) when he says these things, but they are just words with no meaning.

@Carissimi

It's theft.

Can I still apply for forgiveness?

Absolutely. The U.S. Department of Education is urging student loan borrowers to carry on seeking its relief.

"The temporary order does not prevent borrowers from applying for student debt relief at studentaid.gov," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement on Friday. "It also does not prevent us from reviewing these applications and preparing them for transmission to loan servicers."

Six midwestern states have sued the federal government and have asked to stop the proceedings while the court decides whether or not this was unconstitutional.

@4meAndyou

So the janitor has to pay for Bob's law degree? It must be good to be Bob.
4meAndyou · F
@JimBeam It was a bribe from the get-go....but it will definitely make inflation worse.
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou There are some states who are all set to use this alleged "forgiveness" as a source of added taxation.
Imagine that! An idiot gets his/her Lesbian Dance Theory student loan paid for by working taxpayers and that relief is TAXED. (It's REALLY hard for me to not laugh my ass off at that.)

There is a website to apple for loan forgiveness which has a form. The maximum amount is $10,000 unless you qualified for a Pell Grant. (Your parents made less than 120k i think) and then it is $20,000. Have you googled this yet. The site opened a week ago.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Pfuzylogic The maximum total amount, when you first owed a payment you mean? Cant be over 10k?
Pfuzylogic · M
@Coralmist
No, the forgiveness program will pay up to 10k for any loan and up to 20k if you had a pell grant.
thisgenericnamehere · 36-40, M
You had to have filed returns last year. The republican challenge wont hold, its an appeal on a ruling that was immediately thrown out as they lacked merit.

So, if you filed you should be good to sign up.
Pfuzylogic · M
@thisgenericnamehere
By returns, you mean income tax.
thisgenericnamehere · 36-40, M
@Pfuzylogic Tax returns yes.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@thisgenericnamehere oh ok, no I have been unemployed 😦
bookerdana · M
My understanding is under a certain income level the debt is forgiven.....I don't think the pandemic is a factor
Northwest · M
There's a web site. Google it.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
It went bye bye long time ago....
It's a no go. A judge said no to it.
JimBeam · M
It's a scam to get your vote.
