Did less political corruption exist in ancient tribal societies?

SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
watch the film "the naked prey" (several decades old) for a good take on what african tribal politics were like.

of if you prefer indigenous american tribes, try "the black robe"

@SusanInFlorida Not all religious philosophies require the worship of a creator god. Some spiritual philosophies focuses on experiences more than beliefs and faith, Certain Hindu and Buddhist philosophies focus on experience and seeking more than believing and faith. Buddhism and Jainism doesn't have a creator God in their philosophies or religion. A true spiritual person would be more of a seeker than a believer. Some Hindu/pagan and other spiritual philosophical sects view the gods as symbolic archetypes of the Universe and the forces of nature. Mythology is full of archetypes, Symbologies and metaphors to explain the forces of the universe and nature.
@SusanInFlorida Replacing an indigenous religion that developed organically with an externally imposed one will always be destructive.

Back in the early days politicians in the US got tar and feathered on the regular. Hell it was legal for them to challenge each other in a duel! Can we bring that back please.

To dream away with all the Viking romantics out there isn't the rational thing to do, mind you. Real states only began to form in 12th century BC with the formation of Kuru Kingdom which had first state level administration in the Indian subcontinent. The Brahmin priesthood and Kshatriya aristocracy, who dominated the arya commoners (now called vaishyas) and the dasa labourers (now called shudras), were designated as separate classes. It's a system that stil works today, but I wouldn't call it less corrupt. Not at all

Most likely yes due to completly different structures and much smaller hierarchies.

@Gloomy Well, men were running things....so....
Not sure about that, but Ancient Rome was absurdly corrupt.

If there is something and someone to bribe there will be corruption. Human nature.
