They include people likeh Andrew Carnegie, John D Rockefeller, etc. Some of these having accumulated vast wealth using very dubious, in some cases criminal, business practices did give large sums to various charities. Carnegie's Gospel of Wealth belueved personal wealth carried a moral obligation, and he despised inherited wealth, believing it should be heavily taxed. Nowadays the term is being used for those in the Tech industries like Zuckerberg, Musk, Bezos, etc. It should be noted that most of these, whilst donating what appears to be large sums it is indeed a very small fraction of their wealth, and some of those donations benefit them personally.

@RisingMorningStar7 Indeed they do. And a healthier, better educated population leads to a more productive workforce. For a country it's a good long term investment.

@RisingMorningStar7 Where did I get into a revolt in the USA? As for social media censorship I see plenty of posts from the USA that are obviously not censored to my mind, but perhaps you can give some examples of the kind of posts that would be censored, how and by whom?
Also we're getting into a debate about what constitutes freedom? Most Europeans do not consider the USA to be especially free. You're giving provision of food as an example, but it appears food security is an issue.

This forum is sort of an example of American social media. It is not censored. There are mainstream American capitalist conservatives (which make up most of America) like me. And there are far left Nazi Socialist liberals here, spewing hate and racism. None of that is censored. This place has more respect for the First Amendment than any other spot I can think of.

@RisingMorningStar7 China is held together by force. It is inherently unstable. Like many such Governing regimes it looks stable until it collapses. The concern should really be about when, and what might replace it, see Russia and Putin.
