Spoiler alert: China won, no matter what happens on the battlefield. China did not fire a single bullet or missile, and did not starve its people by spending $4Trillion on Middle East wars. All in the pursuit of the biggest strategic blunder in American history, allowing China to turn someone's else war into its biggest strategic victory.
Trump believes that controlling the strait of Hormuz will put pressure on China's economy. But the US economy uses 40% more oil per $ of output than China's. We are more dependent on cheap oil than China is.
So when oil price goes up, who hurts more?
Trump took us into this fight, thinking he has the upper hand. He did not. At least he convinced MAGA he had the upper hand and many humped the flag in agreement.
While we were building warships, China was aiming for independence, for the past couple of decades.
More than 60% of cars on Chinese roads are electric. 2/3rd of EVs wold worldwide were bought in China. The latter controls more than 70% of solar, wind and battery supply chain.
So while we duke it out in a voluntary war, China wins big. And they did not have to do anything. They patted Trump on the back, and agreed when he claimed he was better than Biden.
