Are we allowed to celebrate July 4 without Donald trump?

@whowasthatmaskedman I am concerned about the coming financial collapse too. I just don't think the Fascists are in the position to take advantage. I'm much more worried about neo-liberal Democrats taking advantage and plunging us into an even more extreme version of Capitalism. But we also have Socialism on the rise, so we'll have to wait and see.

America is a long way from the hopeless state. It is a complex structure like the human organism; and like the body, it takes time for the corruption to take the beast down. Look at Dick Cheney. Five heart attacks and an end-stage heart failure at 71; and he still went on living on someone else's heart till he was 84.

America's financial health today is in as bad a shape as Cheney's body when he was heading for his fourth hearth attack. Like Cheney, the USA won't be dying anytime soon but the financial plumbing is shot. And I don't think we are going to get a new heart.

@sree251 I do like your using Cheney as a comparison for a number of reasons.. Including it being someone elses heart he lived with. But I suspect the financial plumbing is worse than you think and the patient has been on life support for decades now. The thing is that Trump has the world in the mood to pull the plug.. The smart money is cleaning house and moving off shore quietly now. They will hold indestructible assets like land, which they can return to on a century if necessary. Anything to dump the paper currency the average schmuck relies on.. 😷
