@jshm2 this is orders of magnitude different to Belfast at the height of the Troubles. People were being killed on a daily basis there, whole neighbourhoods were no go areas, and you didn’t know whether the shop you were currently shopping in was going to be blown sky high at any moment. And not just in Northern Ireland.

There has been some very selective reporting by powerful interests who are hopefully reflecting (in private at least) on the misery and lawlessness that their careless words have brought.

11 police officers injured. Nurses and careworkers publicly abused. 27 people made homeless.
