I wonder about that... I think it is a living and breathing thing... it's alive and it breathes in and out and is constantly growing.. being fed by human desires... there is a will to be honest but then there is a sense of greed that drives decision making process. When good people drop out because they are frustrated... it leaves decisions in the hands of the most greedy. Greed is a necessary desire but it needs to be counterbalanced with concern for the lives of as many people as possible.

@Mindful Satan isn't curbed by law. He couldn't care less about your laws.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@emiliya laws bring awareness and make a difference. Traffic laws are one simple example.
emiliya · 26-30, F
@Mindful The law makes it easier to penalize the person who did wrong. What else? It doesn't even do that if they have a good lawyer.

Yes, absolutely

or woman's.

No. It's that a lot of crooks go into politics to steal money.

@badminton "I'm no crook" - Nixon
No. Liars in the USA, in particular, need desperately to make politics impossible for the average Joe. ROFL! Darkness is back!
It’s about convincing people to vote for you and is equally available to men and women.
dark548 · 31-35, M
@BiasForAction doesn't convincing require a level of manipulation?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
No, not at all. But democracy is open to all comers, and unfortunately that imcludes those who cannot tell the difference between public interest and self interest. It is up to the electorate to exercise their critical faculties and not believe everything they are told simply because they like the speaker.

@SunshineGirl

I could be tempted to participate if Lord Whatsisname sent me a personal shopper and a budget of £5000 !

Unfortunately my nationality precludes voting in national elections, although I vote in the locals.

It seems so now but it doesn't have to be.
At it's core, no, but it doesn't seem to take into account the natural greed of people. Money corrupts, power corrupts absolutely
GoFish ·
it doesn't have to be but a lot of the times some are unfortunately but that's just people in general imo
