Check Out the "Food" That Trump and Hegseth Are Serving Our Military to Eat.

A picture of dinner on the USS Abraham Lincoln sent to family by a service member on board.

Dan F. was alarmed when his daughter, a Marine aboard the USS Tripoli, a warship deployed to fight the Iran war, sent him a photo of a meal served on the ship. A lunch tray, two-thirds empty, carried one small scoop of shredded meat and a single folded tortilla.

A picture of a mid-April dinner on the USS Abraham Lincoln, shared by a service member with his family, was similarly unappetizing – a small handful of boiled carrots, a dry meat patty and a gray slab of processed meat.

Dan and other military family members worried that their loved ones deployed to the Middle East are going hungry are filling boxes with items they hope could help service members ride out prolonged deployments in the Middle East – homemade fudge, Jolly Ranchers, crossword puzzle books, playing cards, toothpaste, Girl Scout cookies and fresh socks.

But mail delivery to military ZIP codes across the Middle East has been indefinitely suspended as of April, and packages in transit now hang in limbo.

I Read a few months ago how the quality of food in the military has been degraded. That's a big mistake. Good food is a morale builder in the military.

When I was in the Army in the 60s we had good food everywhere I served. Including Vietnam. Actually even the C-rations were good.

C-rations and good are a bit of a stretch

I thought most of them tasted pretty good and were filling. The meals were pretty dense and contained a lot of calories. Often when you got a chance to eat anything would have been good though.
@MoveAlong Yeah, out in the field, tree bark would taste good. C-rats were filling and kept us alive. Remember those god awful ham & eggs?

LOL. I do remember. Maybe I don't have good taste. I even liked the Ham and Lima Beans. I remember spaghetti and beef and beef stew being my preferred. Fortunately if we were likely only going to be out only for a day we could choose what we carry. If it were going to be a few days meals were dropped in or kept at a base camp and a fight would often ensue.
The Dems have no plans concerning your food. So, yeah, whatever! ROFL!

The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has its own onboard bakery, producing 2,000 freshly baked baguettes every day. Do you need some NATO assistance?

@SunshineGirl Americans have absolutely no food plans, it's like their profitable medical care.
Never! Bipartisanly - no plans, nothing you would SAY, no terms for no food. Not related, different subjects,, everyone together say it as one - There's Nothing You Can Do!!! No politics!!!!

An Army marches on its stomach - and the troops won't be marching very well with food like that. I wish every service member see's a photo of what Hegseth is eating and what the troops are eating. Cheers and happy weekend!

Oh it is not THAT bad. I am not defending trump, just saying that they get more than that.

I had frozen food better than that in the military.

Yeah I was in a camper unit. We as well had a trunk full of C-rations. For emergencies. You didn't dare open it though without it being an emergency.
Don’t believe that, fake news.
