I find it ironic that liberals consider themselves "progressive" being that every policy they advocate is the opposite of progress.

Nothing is more regressive than their constant ad hominem attacks

@wildbill83 Well done for completely disregarding the spirit of the original post and making another sweeping, unsubstantiated generalisation 🙂

@SunshineGirl well done for completely missing the point. Most traditional republicans/conservatives fit the original definition of "progressive"; Teddy Roosevelt was progressive, Reagan was progressive, Trump is progressive.

It's you leftists that've completely distorted the meaning (like many other things...)

denying biology, attacking the foundation of industry (oil & coal), and trying to tax the shit out of everything isn't progress...

@wildbill83 Trump favours a regressive taxation regime (tariffs) in which the poorest in society pay most as a proportion of their income. By cutting jobs in the IRS, wealthy tax evaders will escape detection and income tax too will become more regressive.

As he has criticised and/or defunded most federal programs that seek to promote the interests of under-represented minorities, I conclude that he is not socially progressive either.

Punishing the majority to reward a minority simply because of their skin color isn't progress

Tariffs weren't invented when Trump took office... blaming reciprocal tariffs while ignoring the tariffs that've been on the US by other countries for decades (and expecting us to take the loss) isn't progress either...

nor is bloated government that attacks the middle class on the premise of "taxing the rich"...(apparently the left's definition of "rich" is anyone who isn't a democrat)

@wildbill83 You have clearly articulated that you support Trump's policies. The fact that you like them does not make a regressive policy progressive.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@SunshineGirl they're not just "trumps policies" (another example of the left's ad hominem attacks).

If you were to ask the vast majority of Americans what they'd rather spend their taxes on; building more factories, increasing jobs, cheaper gas, etc. or prohibitive greenie bullshit and handouts for illegals; what do you think their answer would be?

your party is always going on about "taxing the rich", yet every single time they implement polices based on that line of bullshit, the middle class pays more taxes while buffet, soros, sanders, gates, etc. keep getting richer...
