You support labour and Starmer and run down Trump for something he did years ago...letting our bases be used by USA will be treated by Iran as if we were joining the war and yet we have not supported our allies and you think thats right....

@whowasthatmaskedman fair enough

@Platinum is this a legal war that it what starmer is worried about iran should never have nuclear weapons . i think everyone is clear on that where it can threaten israel and other middle eat countries .but this more than that much as you dislike a regime of any nation openly encouraging a toppling of a goverment or leader by its people no matter how horrendous is wrong

@whowasthatmaskedman i think kier starmer said this is not a war of our choosing this was a america /israel one

Now letting the USAAF use British bases overseas to attack Iran directly has raised a lot of questions and criticism from politicians of all parties.
Their concern, which I share, is that of our country being dragged bit by bit into a war started by Israel and the USA, of dubious legality.
I see in the process,Trump reversing the whole ethos of NATO from a defence pact to supporting unilateral aggression.
The courageous ones are those who stand up to President Trump's increasingly desperate, petulant demands and insults towards other countries.

@ArishMell i agree much as trump and netanyahu hated the regime in iran they have no right to alter it or encourage an uprise
KunsanVeteran · M
@ArishMell Trump & Netanyahu have made your countries legitimate targets for Iranian retaliation.
This war is illegal, likely to continue to spread, and the effects will be felt throughout the world for years, perhaps decades, even centuries.
There’s nothing to be proud of here. And this did not need to have happened!

@KunsanVeteran I agree entirely -and Iran has said so, too.
The British Isles might be just beyond the Iranian's own claimed, 400km missile range; but other European countries are not; and Iran also has other weapons at their disposal such as terrorism.
I don't know if it has its own Internet-interference ability, which if anything is potentially much more dangerous than ballistic or dirigible missiles. We are under constant attack from that by Russia, Iran, Chian and North Korea directly or via proxies; as shown by the massive strike against Jaguar / LandRover last year, by or for Russia.

Private Bone Spurs!!

The daughters of a Queens foot doctor say their late father diagnosed President Donald Trump with bone spurs to help him avoid the Vietnam War draft as a “favor” to his father Fred Trump, according to a new report Wednesday.
Dr. Larry Braunstein, a podiatrist who died in 2007, often told the story of providing Donald Trump with the diagnosis of bone spurs in his heels so he could be exempt from military service, his two daughters – Dr. Elysa Braunstein and Sharon Kessel – told the New York Times.

@ElwoodBlues I’m pretty sure that it is not proper US military protocol for the commander in chief to salute a military officer from a country that is it’s enemy. And if that’s true – Trump was likely briefed about it - but he did it anyway figuring it would be a good photo op. Cheers and happy weekend!

@ElwoodBlues Sadly appropriate.

Americans have a really short attention span.. I blame sesame street. If it happened more than an hour ago and wasnt shown on TV, it doesnt count.. Until the price of petrol goes up..😷

My only problem with you is one of false advertising. You're not smiling in your profile picture.
smiler2012 · 61-69
@LordShadowfire who me nothing to smile about really when the leader of a country is called out as a coward when said leader has issue with a legality of the actions of the supposed leader of the free world. when you look at the said leader of the free world who used a bone spur to dodge the draft and fight for the country he loves hypocrisy comes to mind

@whowasthatmaskedman What is it you think we on the left can do right now between elections?
And what would you do?
And what would you do?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@tindrummer Well, in truth I would have packed my family up and left before now. Because I can see what the numbers trail is telling me was going to happen even before Iran. But to get real, I think you are wrong to hold any hope for anything at the next election. I expect it to be rigged, and if not challenged in the courts, if its held at all.. And even if I am wrong about that, (which is possible) you will have a bunch of equally bought Democrats trying to keep the Titanic from sinking on their watch and not solving a single issue. I would get out now and beat the rush..Because its going to get bad.. Either organised bad like the great Depression under the Democrats, or chaotic bad like something post apocalyptic under the Republican authoritarian banner. You asked...😷
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
@tindrummer If at least half of you detest him then this coming fall, pull your votes from the Congresspeople who kowtow to him.
