Nobody seems to be asking the right question after Trump said NATO has done nothing for the USA.

As someone who comes from a military family it bothered me. I have known people personally who died fighting American wars of choice.

Everyone seems in a hurry to show off how many of their countrymen died on NATO deployments.

But nobody seems to ask why have we spent 80 years sending our sons and daughters to die for the military adventures of the American empire?

What good did 15 years of fighting and dying in Afghanistan get Canadians? Fighting for a government that tried to crash our lumber industry as punishment for not deploying to Iraq for 20 years too.

What good does it do Canadians to play a suicidal game of chicken with the Chinese Navy for no other reason that the Americans expect us to do it?

At this point multiple American governments have made it clear that we are just cannon fodder.

Especially for Canada and countries like us it is time we stop trading one empire for another.

And frankly there might be less wars of choice if Americans had to do the dying on their own for their own interests.

And never forget 80 years ago the USA sat back and watched the world burn until the very last minute. So why are people so surprised when a POTUS tells it up front that the loyalty is and always has been one sided.

Kissinger was right. Being America's enemy is dangerous, being America's friend is lethal." And he should know. He was one of the people that made it lethal.

Fair comment.
I think that's what's annoyed so many 'allies' since Trump's comments.

One wonders what this current 'coalition' that Trump is extolling- 'of the willing' will be prepared to put up with before they see it too.

Kissinger was indeed a brilliant man and strategist
@CorvusBlackthorne And now you continue to waste my time.

And using a gender identity to justify bullying someone with multiple accounts? Really? That is what you are going with?

And again. You don't get to make demands on my posts. Period.

And now you continue to waste my time.
So you are saying that you have no intention of being civil to us.
And using a gender identity to justify bullying someone with multiple accounts?
As I previously stated, @ItsMeMorgue asked me to step in as she was about to lose her temper with you. She will return once she has regained her composure. This is hardly the same as "bullying with multiple accounts," but I hardly expect you to understand the subtleties of the situation, as you cannot even seem to grasp that it is inappropriate for a world leader to respond to a peace talk with a barrage of missiles.
And again. You don't get to make demands on my posts. Period.
I did not make the demand. She did. However, I would ask that you please refrain from intentionally misnaming any of us, however tempting it might be to poke the proverbial bear in a sad attempt to feel superior.

@jshm2 I understand that perfectly. But it doesn't change anything I said.

The first so called myth is accurate. The US could not have changed anything in WW1 and had no ability to enforce anything.

If memory serves the US army in 1914 was like 100 000 men. And the empires of Europe were looking for any excuse which is why the murder of some random royal who abdicated kicked it off.

The second one about them winning WW2 is accurate which is why I referenced it.

On WW2 that is accurate. I am not entirely sure If I would say they followed the nazis ideologically but they certainly took over being the top empire.

And you are correct it was largely a weapons selling scheme with a captive market imposed by the USA.

And it also has functioned as a foreign legion since the 90s.

But again it doesn't change the fact that we need to ask ourselves why we consented to this bullshit in the first place.

@jshm2 On your three myths, be aware they apply only in the USA.
First the USA was not a military power during WW1. In 1914 no European power was paying much atrention to the USA. It did become an economic power. It could, and possibly should have refused to carry on lending money to the UK in 1916. Had it done so the UK and France would not have been able to carry on the war. In 1917 when the USA joined the war it had to rely on the UK to supply it with much of its weapons, uniforms, helmets, etc.
During WW2 the USA stayed out of the war until Japan attacked. It was Germany that declared war on the USA, which was an act of stipufiry by Hitler. You are correct thst Russia did the majoriry of the heavy lifting in defeating Germany. However, without US support Russia would not have had the trucks, production tools, etc., to do that heavy lifting. No US support, Russian tank production would have been massively reduced and it's possibke, even probable Germany would have defeated Russia.
At the end of WW2 Russia, led by Stalin, was the major military power and would have taken all of Germany, but of US nuclear weapons. NATO was an anti Russian alliance, and Russia was a real threat. Eastern Europe was held by the Russian / Soviet Empire. I'm in no way thinking the USA was some benificient power. The USA and the Soviet Union were rivals and the reality was the USA was the least worst option in you were a European country. And to be honest not much attention was being paid to China as it really wasn't seen as a great power at the end of WW2.

I believe Putin is giving Trump orders. The whole Greenland thing is all about breaking up NATO. And Putin wants as much disruption within the U.S. as possible Trump is guilty of high treason. He must be taken out ASAP.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow See Craig Unger's book "House of Trump, House of Putin". Unger lists documented evidence of Trump's ties to Putin and the Russian mafia.
@badminton Trump has ties to the Bratva in Brighton Beach. But that doesn't magically make him a puppet of the Russian government. And literally anyone can write a book.

This depends on Americans being ignorant and still believing nothing has changed in Russia since Yeltsin the Drunk.

And a basic look into this guy exposes him as nothing more than a conspiracy theorist.

Alex Jones calls himself a journalist too.

And Americans are desperate to lie to themselves that Trump is a foreign agent and MAGA is an aberration because then they don't have to even look at the toxic aspects of American culture that created him.
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
Yes, yes, because every president is exactly the same.
@ItsMeMorgue Yes, you are desperate to pretend Putin is a dictator regardless of actual definitions because you are desperate to justify your narrative of cold war cliches.

And again back to conspiracy theories. That is not a thing. Those are stories made up in the west. The same people who pretend Navalny was a liberal democrat with any public support.

When the reality is he was a far right racist who could not do better than 12% even in running for mayor of Moscow.

And Zelensky has jailed and charged with treason or exiled every since opponent and this is after the US coup had already banned every single party that was not from the Maidan coup.

So even his opponents are just factions of pro American oligarchs.

But you have made a point of refusing to educate yourself on Russia or Ukraine for 4 years.

And again you want to pretend your imperial foreign legion are the victims.

Read the room. The pro NATO leaders of Europe are in the toilet and they have destroyed the future of the entire continent in blind ideological servitude to US interests,.

The CIA had to rig elections in Romania to keep the pro NATO party in power.

The elections were cancelled because Zelensky is a tin pot dictator, Period.

Bullshit. You have spent 4 years pretending it is the perfect democracy and you have been a propagandist for NATO for years,

And the US forced the NATO issue on Ukraine so your opinion is worth less than nothing.

And again you make up a bold faced lie that this is about a war of extermination by Russia.

It is your empire that since 2014 has demanded Ukraine fight Russia to the last Ukrainian.

In fact members of congress have specifically stated this was the desired goal.

According tot he government of Georgia your empire also tried to demand they open a second front in this war and pick a fight with Russia for the second time on the behalf of the USA.

Fortunately their leader is not an idiot actor like Zelensky.

And again back to conspiracy theories. That is not a thing.
Okay, can you please start quoting me when you say things like this, so that I understand exactly which of my true comments you're replying to? It's hard enough keeping track of your lies.
When the reality is he was a far right racist who could not do better than 12% even in running for mayor of Moscow.
I don't pretend to know his politics before the war. You could be right. He could have been an awful president, but he was the democratically elected president.
And Zelensky has jailed and charged with treason or exiled every since opponent and this is after the US coup had already banned every single party that was not from the Maidan coup.
Read the room. The pro NATO leaders of Europe are in the toilet and they have destroyed the future of the entire continent in blind ideological servitude to US interests,.
Is it because of that, or is it because of Russian troll farms, like the ones that got Trump elected?
And the US forced the NATO issue on Ukraine so your opinion is worth less than nothing.
And I say that was misguided. Ukraine isn't worthy to join as a direct result of their own politics. Absolutely protect them from invaders, but do not ignore the human rights violations coming from within the house.
You have spent 4 years pretending it is the perfect democracy...
And again you make up a bold faced lie that this is about a war of extermination by Russia.
I didn't make up a thing. Read this: https://understandingwar.org/research/russia-ukraine/fact-sheet-the-kremlins-occupation-playbook-coerced-russification-and-ethnic-cleansing-in-occupied-ukraine/

See how that works? How I just came up with a source? You see how simple that is?
