White House Advisor Stephen Miller Says Star Trek Is Too "Woke," Wants Kirk Back.
Huh, uh. Says the fascist who would deport Uhura, Sulu and Scotty and prohibit women from serving in Starfleet.
Chekov could stay because he's Russian.
As for Spock... He'd probably have him sent to Area 51 for "enhanced interrogation." 🤭
Then there are the episodes with the interracial kiss, overweight admirals who Hegseth would drum out of the service, Kirk's mind in the body of a woman...
There were topics on the old Star Trek that were never touched. Most of them were of a sexual or religious nature. This is why he prefers the old Star, over the newer Star Trek versions.
Must say though, on even the newer Star Treks, you won't hear any profanity either. Yet interspecies progeny was throughout most other versions. I believe only Spock was ever mentioned in the old Star Trek especially as a main character.
Yeah many would call me a Treky. 🙃 Though I'm not exclusive to Star Trek. 😈
What a great post. Thanks to Lucille and you: for giving us some of the greatest television ever produced and made and you listing some of most remarkable personalities on the silver screen.
I think Obergruppenführer Miller has confused Charlie Kirk (gun deaths are "worth it") with Captain James Tiberius Kirk. Here are some quotes from the James T. Kirk character:
Anti-wealth: "We don't use money in the 23rd century" — Star Trek IV
Anti-bigotry: "Leave any bigotry in your quarters, there's no room for it on the bridge." — Star Trek: Into Darkness
And here he is in "Last Battlefield" breaking up a fight between two racists.
It’s neat how you can invoke wokeness as a pejorative and be precise and vague at the same time. Your base knows what you‘re saying but if someone like you were to challenge his statement, like you just did, he could smoothly deny that his criticism of Star Trek had any racial connotations whatsoever.
@beckyromero It‘s sad to say but Stephen Miller would‘ve truly flourished in the political environment of the 1930s and 40s in Germany. He was born in the wrong country at the wrong time. Too bad that we‘re now plagued by his presence.
The dirty little secret that isn't that secret is Stephen Miller is the last person "the base" would trust or treat with respect for his views about Star Trek or anything else only because of his Jewish genetics. But now that they are happy with their rations of "1 piece of chicken, 1 piece of broccoli, 1 tortilla, and 1 of something else," maybe they will accept a Jewish person telling them what they should be watching on TV.
