The UN votes to condemn torture…

Nearly every nation on Earth says “no more.” And who proudly stands WITH torture?

The U.S., Israel, and Argentina under Trump.

If you ever wondered what “American values” look like in MAGA-land, here’s your map: cruelty as policy, torture as identity.

I'd always heard the third world war is going to begin North America, I hope that's not what we're seeing here.

Canada won't hesitate to burn down that brand new ballroom! AGAIN!
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@SnailTeeth You suggest that Canada would engage in an act of terrorism? Oh, and when did Canada burn down a White House ballroom in the past? How could that have been possible since there WASN'T a White House ballroom?

If you were threatening to have Canada burn down that basketball court that Ayatollah Obama fleeced the taxpayers to build, you might have a little more credibility. But again the question of why Canada would want to be involved in any sort of terror act.

@SnailTeeth Pretty much all experts say World War III will originate in the Middle East. The Mediterranean has been a strategic goal over the centuries, even before petroleum was discovered. The Persians, the Tsars of old Russia, all had their eyes on the Med. Perhaps that's why PRESIDENT TRUMP is paying so much attention to Gaza and Israel these days. Something gets out of hand and a nuke could be launched. Once ONE nuke is launched, that's it.

Here's an idea: The book "Alas Babylon" (by Pat Frank) was a fictional account of a small central Florida town during a major nuclear exchange. The book was written in 1959, You might want to check it out. If you don't have time to sit down and read it, the audiobook is available.

@Reason10 I don't have time to pay you any mind beyond this simple admonishment. Go crawl back into your racist echo-chamber.

When bureaucrats get together to ban something they're always granting themselves more power if they can get it.

Ooh you said the k word. That's torture. You protested the lies being pushed by the international corporate class. That's torture.
You told your child not to let the government put a digital implant inside their brain. Torture.

Yep. If the UN Dreamed it up, it's suspect. Those guys are really not to be trusted.

Do you ever stop to wonder why you have the compulsion to constantly create new accounts on here and pester people with leftist dogma?

Seems to suggest someone of an insecure character. A need to lash out and put down those that do not agree with you, in a vain attempt to make yourself feel superior.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@G7J2O
It means a set of principles that are true, laid down by an authority. Us lefties are not an authority. We just state truth

Sir, you contradict yourself in 2 sentences.

The other part of "dogma" that you overlook is that it's not so much the truth, as it is the prevailing beliefs and wishes of the authority promoting the dogma. It's considered less truthful, and more about what the authority promoting the dogma wants to be true.
G7J2O · M
@SumKindaMunster It is not "dogma" to say America did not vote with the UN in condemning torture. It is a fact.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@G7J2O Anything else before I block you....AGAIN...?

I don't condemn more pleasant forms of torture and get information out.

@GuidanceCounselor Reason10, ironically, cannot be reasoned with.
SnailTeeth · 41-45, M
@GuidanceCounselor I think you're confusing a muzzle with a gag, which also doesn't make sense, since this information was delivered through memetics and typing.
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@G7J2O Ironically, there are times when I feel like I'm around either kindergarteners here or a bunch of Downs Syndrome folks who have bat guano for brains.

The origin of my screen name goes back to the last century, when it was named after the REASON foundation, (a free market libertarian think tank.) As far as using actual reason, that's WAY out of you goose steppers wheel house. You all have less cognitive skills than frozen yogurt.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yep, they support terrorism, why else would they condemn enhanced interview techniques?

@G7J2O After seeing them double-down, I don't think they understand what deflection means. Some people are adults in age only.
I support waterboarding and pulling fingernails when it comes to dealing with terrorists to extract information.
G7J2O · M
@NativePortlander1970 like the one between Albania and Azerbaijan 😂 BTW nice deflection
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@NativePortlander1970 @NativePortlander1970 Interestingly enough, the Zero Dark Thirty torture movement is what led Navy Seals to Usama Bin Laden's hiding place, for Ayatollah Obama to take the credit for finding that raghead. The torture necessary for finding Bin Laden was authorized by President Bush.

To a perp, ALL penalties are cruel, inhumane and degrading. Prison basically is a cage for criminals.

The UN would prefer sending the most dangerous individuals in the world to bed without supper.
