They vest after 5 years and she is in her second term.

How much does she gets? Have you any idea how much of our taxes go to paying salaries and pensions for all the parasites upholding our democracy? We need to look into using AI to do the job.

@sree251 Like most things, it is a far more complex issue. We are a long ways from the days of our Founders when Congress met for a few weeks between planting and harvest when they could take time to meet and take care of a short list of relatively simple issues. Serving in Congress now is a full-time job, and many if not most could be earning more in pay, bonuses, and pensions in the private sector, so we really need to compete in compensation to reduce the temptation of all the bribes -- excuse me, campaign donations -- being extended to them by the lobbyists and oligarchs.

Now obviously, there is a great temptation to take both. We desperately need to work on closing that tap of influence money. Which isn't to say we shouldn't be reviewing the compensation levels as well. But until the influence money is severely curtailed, compensation is sort of irrelevant and just cutting back on it would drive the few remaining honest politicians -- if that isn't an oxymoron -- further into the arms of the bribers -- er, influence peddlers.

As far as curtailing compensation goes, we could start with cutting off all pay and benefits, including pension vesting time, any time they shut down the government. They essentially are on strike, and who gets paid while on strike. (Perhaps some level of reimbursement might be part of the final contract negotiated, but they certainly don't get paid by the employer while walking the picket line.)

Keep this simple. Why are you against using AI to replace the parasitic crooks in Congress? The ATM machine works great in replacing the ass behind the bank counter. We could update the ATM with AI capability to engage older customers in chit chat like Alexa. The same thing can be done to keep you connected to a "friendly Congressman".

I think it's a little more complicated than that .
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 No ,I approve of some things he does and disapprove of others ,but overall I'd still have him over the other candidate.

Well,I never knew my Dad ,so that statement is irrelevant in my case. But taking your rather illogical analogy to its logical conclusion, what do you expect me to do ,walk up to the White House and order Donald Trump to stop doing the things I don't agree with ? Im sure that will work out !

I don't expect you to do anything that I can't do myself. Like you, I thought he would make the best President ever, and I voted for him and not for the other. But he blew it big time. He turned out to be an abomination. Like you, I can't do anything to stop him now. I can vote for the other side in the mid-terms in order to neutralize him with a Democrat dominated House and Senate. He has been authorizing the killing of boatmen in the Caribbean. As an American, I cannot endorse that. I bear responsibility for any crime the US President commit as my representative. Do you understand this, David?

You are not thinking right. You don't have a dad, you said. You did not have someone to teach you the right way.
We've known that MTG was a RINO fraud for years. She pretended for awhile, but was never MAGA. The only thing new is that you're finally figuring it out.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@BizSuitStacy Though to be fair ,no one is QUITE as bad as Liz Cheney.

She pretended for awhile, but was never MAGA.

Apparently, neither was Trump.

So you support RFK Jr, eh
You are finished with maga but not the uniparty of endless wars! Smug Americans think we're never going to hold them accountable for anything they DO as a democracy.
That's everyone here but me.

That's everyone here but me.

So said Donald Trump whom we and Majorie Taylor Greene pushed over the finish line to hold them accountable. Look at what happened.
