A crack in the MAGA movement

Marjorie Taylor Greene is resigning from Congress. Loyalty should be a two-way street, she said. Apparently, Trump sees it as one way: loyalty to him only and no talk back from his base.

"Don't think! I don't like it!" said the king.

I think it's a little more complicated than that .
sree251 · 41-45, M
@DavidT8899 Why don't you tell us what the complication is?

Sure thing.Greene has gotten crazier and crazier with her rhetoric; it's like she's become the Republican equivalent to AOC.

Good point.

Frankly, she's become an embarrassment to the party. The issue isn't that she disagrees with Donald Trump - I myself don't support EVERYTHING he does. The issue is that she's become a nut.The party is better off without her.

You share Trump's viewpoint of Greene. So, what is your viewpoint of Trump with regard those things he does that you don't support?
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 Here's my viewpoint on Trump : While I think he's the best President we've had in modern times ,I DON'T view him as a god and I don't agree with literally everything he does .As all Presidents ,he can not be above all criticism. That said ,I still think he's infinitely better then the other choice. Its a binary decision ; one or the other .I pick him any day over the other .
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 In terms of the SPECIFIC things the does that I disagree with ,well obviously I don't think he should do them ,but I don't have any power over that .

I have to quote your entire reply to capture your mindset that shapes your viewpoint. Your overall impression of Trump has nothing to do with objective conclusions of his actions on domestic and foreign policy matters. In other words, you approve of Trump the way your dad approves of you.

Your dad would give the same answer with regard to the specific things that YOU do.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251Well,I never knew my Dad ,so that statement is irrelevant in my case. But taking your rather illogical analogy to its logical conclusion, what do you expect me to do ,walk up to the White House and order Donald Trump to stop doing the things I don't agree with ? Im sure that will work out !
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 No ,I approve of some things he does and disapprove of others ,but overall I'd still have him over the other candidate.

I don't expect you to do anything that I can't do myself. Like you, I thought he would make the best President ever, and I voted for him and not for the other. But he blew it big time. He turned out to be an abomination. Like you, I can't do anything to stop him now. I can vote for the other side in the mid-terms in order to neutralize him with a Democrat dominated House and Senate. He has been authorizing the killing of boatmen in the Caribbean. As an American, I cannot endorse that. I bear responsibility for any crime the US President commit as my representative. Do you understand this, David?

You are not thinking right. You don't have a dad, you said. You did not have someone to teach you the right way.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 I understand how you feel ,and you have a right to your opinion, but I gave the right not to agree with it.And if they vote control to the other side in Congress ,I think you will see how bad things can really get .
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 I'm not thinking right just because I don't agree with how you think ?🤔

I am not asking for your agreement with me. Your support of Trump is not based on objectivity and reason. You just like the guy.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 Actually ,it's based on my interpretation of the facts and his past performance ,as well as that of his opponents.Liking or disliking him has nothing to do with it.

Hold old are you? Nobody take people your age seriously.

@sree251 My age is listed next to my username ,like everyone else's .And if that's how you feel ,you are not obligated to converse with me.

No obligation to speak to anyone here. Taking pot shots at people is why we are here. I have a thick skin and like it here.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 I was under the impression that we were here to intelligently discuss issues ,although I acknowledge the reality is usually far different.Id like to think that I have a thick skin as well.Am I shouting or giving out insults ?But you are the one who made the comment about my age ; my response to it stands.

What issues are you discussing? And to what end? This is a chat shop for nutjobs.

Can you stay focused on the topic of discussion?

@sree251 You know ,when a person has to resort to personal insults ,it's a sure sign that they don't know what they are talking about .It seems that despite our age difference ,I seem to know a few things about maturity and comportment that you don't.

Maturity and comportment. On this site? Most people chat on their computers in their basement; others kill time trading insults on their cellphones. People your age going somewhere in life wouldn't be here.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@sree251 Using that logic ,people your age going somewhere in life DEFINITELY wouldn't be here.
