@NerdyPotato Having said that, he's not exactly acted for peace or co-operation. He's withdrawn the US from the WHO and Paris, and of course has openly talked of invading Greenland, Panama, Venezuela, and even Canada.

@wishforthenight yep, he's the opposite of a peacemaker. Therefore there is something to say for pleasing him and giving him a Nobel Prize would accomplish that for a while. But it would turn all future Nobel Prizes into a political tool rather than an award for an achievement.

Something nobody seems to be talking about is that one factor that likely contributed to this is Egypt is finally had enough and are showing signals that they are preparing for possibly forcing Israel out of Gaza and Israel cannot afford fighting on yet another front.
People seem to have missed the 40 000 Egyptian mechanized infantry moved into the Sinai which violates the 1979 peace between Egypt and Israel. That is not an accident.

Well, he didn't win and it's no surprise; they only accepted nominations for this year's winner through January 31st of this year, so he wouldn't have qualified based on his self-determined list of accomplishments. Plus he doesn't deserve it in any way and they absolutely know it, never mind the fact that the results of any recently negotiated peace agreements haven't proven their lasting results, yet, or the fact that it isn't looking promising thus far.

I thinkl it would be the other way round, any consideration of awarding him based on whether his efforts succeed, so it would not be this time round anyway.

There's no "deal" on the table. Netanyahu has refused to end all hostilities until he reaches his goal..........to kill everyone he thinks is Hamas in Palestine. Which looks like is every single living soul in Gaza. The second reason Netanyahu won't end hostilities is because he knows the ONLY way he will stay out of prison is to have Israel at war continue. As long as he can take Israel's eyes off of the multiple felony counts he was facing before he started this genocide.....he stays out of the courts. When the war stops...........he gets tried. And he knows it.

@AnnaWasHere I don't think he has a chance this year. For a start, the Nobel list was drawn up almost a year ago, and he's only been in office since January. Also, he's withdrawn the US from several global treaties and has openly talked about invading Venezuela, Greenland, Panama and even Canada. Coupled with the crackdown in the US, he's not exactly top of the list, and I'm pretty sure the Nobel Committee get thousands of letters advocating for various people from God knows how many world leaders.
However, if the Gaza ceasefire somehow takes effect and holds, it might be more difficult to look beyond him next year.
