If Farage gets into power, will he deport those Anglophobes who insult our country by flying the Union Flag upside down? They must be foreigners who obviously hate our country. No true British patriot would do such a thing.
If Farage ever comes to power he should make it compulsory for every adult in the country to pass the "Living in the UK" test. Three unsuccessful attempts and you are out . . no arguing 🇬🇧
@jefferson Passing it is considered to be a necessary precondition to new people living in the UK. So it is logical that only those who can pass it should be able to live here.
@MartinII So long as to don't do around flying it upside donw, no one will know. ;) It doesn't make sense, however, for those who claim to be so proud to be British that they feel compelled to tie the Union Flag to lamposts, to not know which way up it's meant to be. It's quite obvious that one or more are upside when there is more than one flag and they're not all the same way up.
Just so you can spot them yourself, the broad white stripe is uppermost on the side next to the hoist. If there is no hoist, it's deemed to be on the left.
@Sharon Ah, thank you. I vaguely remember learning that at school. I'll try to remember now. It is, I suggest, a fairly esoteric point, especially if you have climbed up a lamppost with your flag!
In the US, flying the flag upside down is a sign of distress. The people who do it are ultra nationalists, white supremacists, etc. who think the government isn't conservative enough. Usually during Democratic administrations.
@meJess Then they should stay by the flag so that rescuers can render whatever assistance be required. Raising a distress signal and leaving it raised when one is no longer in immediate danger could be seen as a malicious false alarm.
im just glad they are flying the flag, farage willnever ge tin power as he has too many sekeletons the press will release in campaign year, hes a snake oil saleman,
@Sharon if scotland, wales and northern ireland leave, would all of them living in england have to leave or, get some sort of residency permit, and i know thye werent allowed ot vote in the original referendum (mysteruously),
@jefferson yea, imagine the scotish people were free to decide whatever they want for themselves like a civilised and developed democracy which uk isn't.
