What is interesting about this map is, it's some of the wealthiest areas in the state. While Austin itself is not wealthy. Rural parts is actually beside the point.
That whole area between the two cities is rural. And that map doesn't include New Braunfels either. Yet it does include Canyon lake above New Braunfels. Yeah I know about Canyon lake.
I'm very familiar with the area between San Antonio and Austin. I lived there once. In the poorer southern portion though.
Notice the huge differences in your New map to these current ones.

Looking on from Canada, this open gerrymandering now being undertaken by both sides is one of the weirdest things yet in the Trump era of US politics. Gerrymandering is supposed to be undertaken sneakily and with some pretense that it's not really happening! The lack of any shame about it now is startling.

You have better representation. Your MPs represent far fewer people.
We haven't had an increase in the size of the House of Representatives since 1929.

If Texas goes through with it they leave the Democrats with no choice. California, NY and Illinois already have plans in the works. Every state that legally can will follow.

@beckyromero Shall we compare that with Illinois and Massachusetts?

@justanothername His responses are always memes. He never really says anything, intelligent or otherwise.
But on the rare occasions he does, it’s uniformly otherwise. 🤣
