There’s one town in the west coast that years ago raised the minimum wage to 20$. Everyone said the town was insane and the economy would collapse. But instead their economy boomed, businesses sold more because people finally had money to spend and everyone’s lives got a lot better.

@Captainjackass Basic economics. More money circulating in the economy (rather than gathering dust in bank accounts) = more growth.

@SunshineGirl Exactly - that is why raising wages for the lowest paid has such an impact. They will spend all their new money and it will stimulate the economy. A virtuous circle.
