There's a Simple Name for It...

"When federal agents are explicitly encouraged to arrest people to meet numerical targets, when constitutional protections become negotiable—we have moved beyond the realm of policy disagreement into territory that has a specific historical designation.”
- conservative Bill Kristol on X.com

I have a simple name for it: FASCISM !

"Numerical targets" are secondary to the real problem - which is blatant criminal gang activity or breaking Federal Immigration laws by crossing the border into the US illegally.

The fact that there has to be some type of gauge on how many are arrested per day just underscores the real problem of President Joseph Biden's allowing 21M illegal alien criminals in the US.
@ElwoodBlues Sir - sir - sir - Asylum seekers must travel through - what ? what points of entry ?
How are we supposed to know who wants asylum ? Of course when caught you can claim that you want asylum - just like shoplifters that want to pay for their stuff after caught - use some sense.
@ElwoodBlues Also asylum is a lengthy process that involves investigation on a case by case situation. You have to prove that ( the criteria used for each country )
Asylum is not a word that lets you stay here w/o an investigation.
@MarmeeMarch Indeed, a lengthy due process, dating all the way back to Reagan's 1986 immigration laws. Our asylum pipeline is quite full these days.

However, it just so happens that the Senate, in early 2024, produced a bipartisan bill to greatly streamline the asylum process. You remember what happened to that bill, right? Trump squashed it; blocked any debate. The asylum issue had a fix and Trump didn't want it implemented. SAD!

Trump blocked the bipartisan bill to keep the border as a campaign issue. He DAMAGED America for the sake of his campaign. And we're still stuck with the lengthy asylum process. And tRump's masked secret national police are doing everything in their power to avoid due process.

Sad, when the rule of law dies, isn't it?

It's even worse than that, because they are parading around in their cruelty to humans. It's inhumanity for no productive reason.

@RedBaron As have mentioned often before, I don't particularly care for those that are pedants!
RedBaron · M
@DeWayfarer Why don’t you just respect people by correctly spelling their names?

It’s not difficult to do and not pedantic to suggest it.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@RedBaron because my meaning is perfectly clear to the average person! Such academia is unnecessary in a social forum!

This is not the place for dissertations. If it was I simply would not be on here!
