Imagine a system where you pay a little bit of money every month…

… and everyone gets their illnesses treated, including you.

Now imagine hating this idea.

It’s what in the UK is known as National Insurance and the National Health Service 🙂

I pay a lot. And I don’t use it. But I must have it. I don’t go to the doctor.

I prefer the natural way 🌿

Are these the missing lyrics to that John Lennon song?

@iamthe99 Careful what you wish for.

The USA pays more for drugs than anyone else. This makes a lot of money for big pharma and enables them to keep prices down elsewhere. It also gives them more money to invest in R & D.

I'm sure you're an intelligent guy so you understand drugs don't just fall out of the sky. They're the result of millions of dollars of investment which might not actually bear fruit.

Do you want pharma to make less money so they invest less in R & D?
@JonUK41 Nice attempt at distraction lol. You forget that Big Pharma will make their money whether people have healthcare or not, nothing you or anyone else can do about it, that is a solid fact.

@JamesBugman Of course they'll always make money.

My point was that @iamthe99 lives in the UK as I do. We benefit from big pharma ripping off Americans on drug prices
It's nuts isn't it? Its all about who puts the policy in place, not about what it does. If Obama puts it in to help everyone, then naturally Rump is going to try to destroy it. It's really a sickness.

Does everyone pay the same amount regardless of age/health situation?
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
But how will corporations be able to exploit that for maximum profit?
JonUK41 · 36-40, M
@DunningKruger They won't.

@JonUK41 What're you? Some kinda comm'nist?
Charging each other is beyond questionable. You must! Self solve, westerners! Keep paying.
