I'm so proud of him👏
Pfuzylogic · M
He is following the lead of his good friend Kamala and taking leadership in the Democratic Party!
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
Does anyone care???
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@nudistsueaz I'd appreciate if you would refrain from commenting on my posts in the future. I don't like nazi supporters and that's what you are.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Starcrossed There no Nazi's here except for George Soros.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@nudistsueaz I admit, when I read he planned to do it, my reaction was the same -- who cares if he breaks the record on a filibuster that has served nothing but negative objectives since Jimmy Stewart went to Washington. (Look it up if you don't know the reference.) But I caught the last hour and a half of it waiting for the ballgame to come on, and he put it in full context on just that point: Thurman, who holds the record, and most other filibusters have done it to stop efforts to improve society; his was to stop the de-construction of our Constitution and rally individuals to step up and take action. Just in that hour and a half he weaved a powerful argument from personal experience and the words of past leaders -- both Republican and Democratic -- on taking unpopular stances at the time to preserve our way of government. He is a masterful orator. And turns out to be quite an athlete as well, still standing, still full voiced, still forceful, still eloquent, after 25 hours on his feet with only momentary breaks as an ally rose to ask a lengthy question to allow him a bathroom break or whatever.

The other remarkable thing, imho, was the lack of any effort -- at least during that final hour and a half -- by the Republicans, who hold the majority, to try and demand he yield; the Republican chair admittedly breaking protocol to interrupt him to announce he had broken the record, congratulating him and applauding him; the widespread support across the aisle from both parties from those who have not had the guts to publicly speak out against the systemic destruction of our Constitutional government by two narcissistic oligarchs.

He spoke truth to power, and his point was that every individual has an obligation to do the same. That the Constitution written on paper is worthless if you don't carry the Constitution in your heart.

A shame he refuses to put his energy into doing his legislative job.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@MarineBob I'd say he IS doing his job, validating the multitude of concerns that his constituents have been coming to him with and it was broadcast to the world. Some people felt heard today.
MethDozer · M
@MarineBob He is. About time the repubs got a taste of their own medicine
MasterLee · 56-60, M
And no one cared
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@MasterLee not true.
tenente · 100+, M
Oh so it's cool when Cory Booker talks nonstop but when I do it, it's all "nobody else read the Brian Herbert Dune books" and "chill out" 🙄
Pfuzylogic · M
@tenente Do go on! 👍🏼
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Oh @tenente, I'd LOVE to hear your 25 hr geek out diatribe about Dune. Please, by all means, proceed.
Pfuzylogic · M
@Starcrossed
Stephen Miller gives me a neo-nazi cringe.
Why bother when you know it’s a Total waste of time?

Thieving pedos can only delay their demise so long…
@Starcrossed cry harder.. everything is down stream from the corrupt pedi infested American government.. it’s in all our interest what starts in your congress..
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
It just boggles my mind people don't think both parties are corrupt or that the republican party is so pious that they don't have a pedo problem.
Pfuzylogic · M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout
donnie is the only one indicted with jeffrey for being a pedo in 2016. That doesn’t even count the allegations in the recently released epstein files by Ron Sanctimonious.
