If trump can seek a 3rd term doesn't that mean Obama can as well?

Maybe. I think Republicans intend to word the new law such that it won’t apply to Obama. But do you really think Obama wants to run again anyway? And why should Democrats run another old guy against Trump when we have so many young people to choose from? I just don’t see a Trump vs. Obama election happening.

Last I heard the proposed GOP law would be written to apply only to a President who hadn't already served two CONSECUTIVE terms, baring Obama from running.

By the next election, Trump would be 82 and he's not in very good health to begin with. A couple more Big Mac's, and he will hopefully stroke out soon.
