Zelensky, the tough guy, disrespects Trump.

Mr Zelensky had been scheduled to have lunch with Trump and both leaders were going to sign a minerals deal during a joint news conference.

Instead, Mr Zelensky’s armored SUV abruptly pulled up to the door of the West Wing moments after a heated shouting match.

Trump has gutted Deep State, the covert power of the US President to take out foreign actors. Trump is on his own, and Zelensky knows it. Soon, the whole world will know it.

How much financial support has the US given Ukraine?
Western allies provide Ukraine with a range of financial support, spanning humanitarian and development aid, military support as well as other financial allocations.

The assistance is designed to help prop up Ukraine's economy and give it the military power it needs to withstand Russia's invasion.

According to US federal government sources, Congress has passed five so-called 'supplemental appropriation acts' since the 2022 invasion, allocating $174.2 billion in funds for Ukraine.

Another US government tracker - which compiles data from over 20 oversight entities from across the government - puts the headline sum slightly higher at $182.8 billion. This is because the tracker also includes smaller donations made by other government agencies, such as the U.S. Agency for Global. Media (USAGM) or the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Of this, $182.8 billion pot, only $83.4 billion has been disbursed, with the remaining $99,4 billion either not yet committed or not yet approved for payment.

Other estimates provided by the Berlin-based Kiel institute for the World Economy put the headline figure of total US assistance at 114.15 billion (119.76 billion).

This is because of the Kiel Institute's methodology, which only considers support directly given to Ukraine. It excludes things like money used to replenish US weapon stocks following donations to Kyiv, or funds spent to help neighbouring countries welcome Ukrainian refugees.

This is the true amount the US has given Ukraine, roughly half of what Trump said today.

Z was categorically NOT being disrespectful whatsoever. Trump and Vance on the other hand were incredibly disrespectful and close minded to even listening. Every day the asset Krasnov suggestion seems more plausible.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Starcrossed Zelenskyy did absolutely nothing. Its Trump and Vance that layed into him for no reaon.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@JimboSaturn It was all a show for the TASS [Russian state media] "journalist" that was allowed.

TASS was allowed while Reuters and AP were excluded.

🤴Komrad Kompromat Krasnov

Nothing to see here folks.

Seems like Trump can only speak in what he thinks is tough guy speak and usually repeating the same thing over and over for significance.

Zelensky is too good for that experience.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@tobynshorty Apparently not. The thing to remember is, Zelensky already has our Billions of dollars.

Way to go President Trump and Vice President Vance. Well done.
Did Z duck out? I'm confused.
@sree251 Trump and Vance, but I'm still not getting this and haven't had the chance to figure out how this all came down.

Trump scheduled this show before Z was supposed to sign?

Went ahead with it after it was clear Z wouldn't sign?

I get that this is Trump staged, and that his performance was not great, and Vance and Trump didn't have the same script, but was this really just put on to let Trump blame selling out Ukraine on Z, or did actually think they could squeeze Z on TV?

Trump and Vance, but I'm still not getting this and haven't had the chance to figure out how this all came down.

Obviously, the shouting match was unrehearsed and unexpected. Trump said that it was great for all the world to see the honest exchange, something Americans never get to see.

Trump scheduled this show before Z was supposed to sign?

Went ahead with it after it was clear Z wouldn't sign?

Z is just a puppet of NATO European allies (UK, France, Germany). The puppet was told what to do on behalf of the Europeans: don't give Trump the sole power to deal with Russia. Zelensky is full of venom and hate as Trump pointed out.

I get that this is Trump staged, and that his performance was not great, and Vance and Trump didn't have the same script, but was this really just put on to let Trump blame selling out Ukraine on Z, or did actually think they could squeeze Z on TV?

No, no , no, Misty. Trump is just trying to broker a deal to stop the war. Zelensky knows that Trump does not share Europe's support for the war against Russia. JD Vance was agitated by Zelensky's belligerent attitude towards Russia in a meeting hosted by the US. It was then that the shouting match was ignited.
@sree251 So Trump actually thought this show would help him broker a deal?

That's what I'm not getting.

The spoiled kid not getting his candy. What a surprise.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Gibbon I'm not deflecting I've answered you. If you follow politics you would know that the Ukraining constitution allows for suspension of elections during war. He is doing nothing unconstitutional. Many Ukranians have fled and many are on the front line. While their cities get bombed, how are they going to have an election?

Meanwhile, Putin has been in power for 26 years, with no credible elections, and his opponents murdered or put in jail then murdered. If anyone should be berated it's Putin, but true to Trump he attacks his allies and kisses your enemies asses? When are you going to wake up?

@Gibbon How am I stretching conversations? You just go back into your dumpster. I have proved to you Zelenskyy is not a dictator, that is a fact.

Sidekick J D Vance disrespected Zelensky and then Cry-Baby-trump joined in and in warrior mode, Zelensky pushed back. Watch the Republicans contort themselves to become complicit in the downfall of America's leadership position.

This is what deal-making looks like.

Seems to me that Trump has overplayed his hand in attempt to make a deal.

@sree251 Funny, I didn't see it that way at all. When your looking for a hand out, you need to mind your P's and Q's
