That is the last Republican innagaration you will ever see go there.
They get a lot of donations of tourist making donations when they go through it that will come to an end.

I see plenty of evangelicals going in on politics, but they cry when the shoe is on the other foot. It wasn’t even that bad, all she said was to have mercy on people less fortunate. Isn’t that was Jesus preached?
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@Quetzalcoatlus It could have been better phrased. I feel once the church starts paying taxes, then they can offer political commentary.
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
@nudistsueaz Yes, but do you also agree that those right wing evangelicals should not be preaching politics??
Heartlander · 80-89, M
The bishop took advantage of Trump being there to single him out and to deliver her political opinion. Sort of like when the cast of Hamilton took advantage of then VP Pence attending their performance.
It’s an unfair setting when just one side has a microphone and a stage or pulpit. And of course the media can be expected to hop aboard. They likewise have an unfair advantage since they own the TV cameras and the printing presses, much like the bishop and the performing cast own their stages.

@Heartlander She addressed Christian values in a church to a man who claimed to be saved from death by God. However, it is strange that in a state where God is officially only mentioned on the monetary bills, that the President (not just this one) asks for prayers and is surprised when the Person being prayed to becomes involved through someone who speaks to Him for job.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@FreddieUK the reference to God is at the heart of our Declaration of Independence. Then, in reflection to all the misery, deaths, torture committed by some who claim exclusive authority to speak for God, we prohibit a state religion.
Places of worship usually lock their doors at night, and have behavior protocols for those who enter. Services have ushers and staff to help enforce the conduct. How is that different from a country’s need to manage its doors?

@Heartlander It was wise of your Founders to not have a state religion, but my point is still that what was being talked about was not a political one (i.e nothing was said about the need to manage the borders) but attitudes to all the people from the one they elected.

No! He tried to talk them down on the collection plate...OK OK what do I get for $20? - can I sit in the first row? No? How about $50, that's the highest I'll go maybe $55 or $60 but that's it....etc....
I loved it. Cheers to her for not being afraid of some overgrown bully.
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
Im amazed he didn’t have a fit and walk off. He probably didn’t understand why there was a woman up there to begin with.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
I would never return, would you?

"Not too exciting, was it. They could do much better,” Trump said in response to woke Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde's subtle political rant. Trump was being way too kind to this corrupt Devil's advocate. I'd find a way to defrock her. 😄
Kenworth4954 · 56-60, M
@PatKirby the pulpit is really no place for an old cat lady with perversion anyway. 👍
Vin53 · M
So lets be candid shall we, what did she say that was so harmful and critical of trump exactly?
@Vin53 it's probably just because she has short hair. Because women can only have long hair 🙄

@Handfull1 Politics was mentioned in the question. But yes
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@MrBrownstone Washington is 90%+ a Democrat city. And as I believe I understand, Episcopal churches are owned by the congregation that in turn hires their ministers and bishops. Since Washington is a political city, it’s likely that the clergy would be as political as the congregation.
The Democrat swamp is so deep in Washington that for non Democrats it’s like visiting a foreign country. Undoing that entrenchment is like trying to turn a 100 car freight train around. Maybe this is a good time to consider moving the federal government to some other place.

@Heartlander
The irony is, that's not far from the truth. The times I've been, there are more foreign nationals walking around than US citizens speaking a dozen different languages
you'd probably see more asians at the Smithsonian than you'd see at an airport in Tokyo...🤔

After firing a female admiral, then confronting a female bishop at church, it's a miracle he even stayed during her sermon. 🤣

@DeWayfarer of his second term why
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@JohnOlinger81 no idea. No reason was given. 🤷🏻♂

Not a fact. She was married to Paul Edgar in 1986, they are still married and have two children. It's quite easy to look up facts...if you want them of course.
the fact she's a lesbian

@nudistsueaz Well, he cared enough to have a rant about it several hours afterwards....

@Vin53 he actually has a ton in common with the figure. He even claimed to be the savior during his last rule.
