Part of misinformation and propaganda is to use some truth, partial truths, and half truths. So one can still watch the mainstream media, but one must use wisdom, combined with alternative news sources to draw one's own conclusion on the topic.
It's not that I don't believe everything they say, it's about finding the part of the information that is actually true.
