Part of misinformation and propaganda is to use some truth, partial truths, and half truths. So one can still watch the mainstream media, but one must use wisdom, combined with alternative news sources to draw one's own conclusion on the topic.

I look for news sources that dont focus on niche topics, like how cool republicans are, and that emphasizes transparency by publishing source documents with their stories.
