I hate the way it is accepted that maga-Republicans are automatically "conservative" as they use that label when nothing they promote is conservative.

Reactionary or regressive would be much more descriptive than Conservative, imo.

The goals are less about keeping things the way they are and more about changing things back to the way they were or they think they were or should have been.

Sure, there's a resistance to progress that matches conservatism, but Trumpism is pushing for change and destruction of liberal ideas and institutions.

They definitely are conservatives, but the Dems are, too. Americans don't need any material basis for their policies politics or views! Why would you allow that and have your numbers look terrible?
