Clearly, Trump is promising that he WILL abuse power on Day One. And what else has Trump said along those lines??
Trump has plainly stated that he wants dictatorial powers with which to punish his enemies. And he sent a mob to violently overthrow Congress, but they failed. It was, as Mitch McConnell said, a "failed insurrection." Quit trying to whitewash and put stuff between the lines to serve your own agenda.
At one point Trump called for the U.S. Constitution to be suspended so that he could return to the Presidency.
A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!
It's been widely reported that Trump said privately he'll order the Department of Justice to pursue prosecutions of his former aides and officials who have criticized him. In his crosshairs are former chief of staff John F. Kelly, former attorney general William Barr, his ex-attorney Ty Cobb, and former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mark A. Milley; not to mention practically every elected official with a D after their name.
And then, on Sept 30 2024, he called for an end to the foundational judicial principle of innocent until proven guilty.
"You know, if you had one day, like one real rough, nasty day," he said, during a section of the speech about how left-wing politicians are allegedly preventing police from enforcing the law, "one rough hour, and I mean real rough, the word will get out and it will end immediately. End immediately. You know, it'll end immediately."
@ElwoodBlues lol shall I even mention broken promises? Take a look at the last four years. The only promises kept were to Zelensky and his war we've been supporting.
Why make him out to be a terrible person when all he wants to do is better America he certainly better than the other choice we have who wants to make government run healthcare and take control of small businesses

Just on the basis of Reagan's immigration principles, Trump would dismiss him, but there's also Reagan's commitment to bipartisanship and positive values that runs opposite to trumpism.

@ElwoodBlues I think they both would agree on the border issues we have today due to the bad policies the current administration has today . I’ve listened to a lot of Reagan’s speeches and he is so much in line with Trump

"I saw former President Trump make that allegation earlier today on one of his social media posts. 'All the president has to do is declare the borders closed and it's closed.' Well, with all due respect, that didn't happen in 2017, 18, 19, and 20. There were millions of people who came into the United States during those four years and Trump stopped very very few of them despite his lies."
He went on to say that "Mayorkas.....and Biden has just as little to do with the migration problems because the laws are antiquated........last written in the early 1980's....and since then no one has really cared about new laws because more can be gained in election years by Republicans complaining no Dem wants to fix this..............and now when Dems do.........Republicans are blocking it to kiss up to Trump"
For decades, US immigration law and policy was designed to spit in the eye of Fidel Castro by treating everyone who set foot on Florida as an asylum seeker. This helped earn votes from a swing demographic in a swing state.
I agree, we need immigration reform (last one was Reagan's 1986 amnesty). And we had it with the Senate Bipartisan border bill. And Trump and his lackeys KILLED it before it could even be debated.
Save us from. Nuclear war. He has had power all his life had money all his life so why wouldn't a person that they have tried to lock up unsuccessfully, tried to kill twice unsuccessfully, not just say to hell with this and go back to his life? The people he talks about targeting are anti American and need to be punished for their treasonous acts.
Trump had said he would not put the country through the scandal of hunting down all those who committed treason or broke the law if he won. That is a mistake because they will be encouraged to start up again after his second term. Dead criminals break no laws, and the penalty for treason is death. If we enforce the law, criminals will go away. I would hope they would create dozens of special counsels to investigate everything and then publish the results a month before the midterms.
There obviously was no insurrection even the FBI said that. Also the videos of glowies taking the protesters on tours to get them inside the building.
