When did people start thinking that anarchism and capitalism are in anyway similar?

SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
In the 1980s, when neo-liberal governments tore up financial regulations and the concept of "shareholder value" took over from the idea of corporations existing and operating for the benefit of society.

Im not exactly sure; but when america the capitalistic overthrew authority in the form of great britain its ruler, at the time; disorder and rebellion became the admired trait?
In that example the success of 'capitalist' America became synonimous with anarchy\rebellion? Similarly bc capitalism is alledgedly a 'revolutionary' concept and the only consistent means of competetion is to overthrough the established players. Perhaps that is epitomized by 'anarchy'

If you leave out the traditional definitions, both are about doing whatever they want
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@Convivial they really arent. One supports privatisation. The other seeks to abolish it. One is about small government. The other hates all governments
Convivial · 26-30, F
@Guitarman123 i might disagree...i was thinking of their approach to rules
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@Convivial one is about voluntary organisation. The other is about hierarchy. If you still disagree then go read any anarchist literature

When they began not to question things.
Most people think Anarchy means disorder and unorganized behaviour.
RachelLia2003 · 18-21, F
never. bc capitalism is awesome. anarchist is bad.
exchrist · 31-35
@RachelLia2003 yet the most established 'capitalists' escape the controls everyone else is subjected to. Isnt that anarchy (definitely aristocratic priveledge?). They often do it while scream anarchy and\or freedom.
Appealing to a country with a bad joke for an education system.
Because anarchism is heavier deregulation
