I plan to vote for him for the third time...so, YES.
When Covid was silently spreading thru the US in Feb 2020, what did Great Protector tRump do?? He LIED to us for FIVE WEEKS!!!

@fanuc2013 Yes.

New Zealand and Taiwan.
@fanuc2013 asks
Did any other world leader do any better?
I am SO GLAD you asked!!

All through Trump's term, our Covid per capita death rate was DOUBLE that of countries like Canada & Germany, resulting in about 550,000 Covid deaths under Trump.

If Trump had handled Covid as well as, say, Justin Trudeau, we'd have had 275,000 FEWER DEATHS! Put another way, Trump's mis-management of Covid cost more deaths than THREE Viet Nam wars!! Three Viet Nams in a SINGLE YEAR, not spread out over ten years like the actual war!!!

Sure, Covid came from outside. And different leaders in different countries managed it differently. Trump's piss-poor Covid management is made clear by the relative per capita death rates.

"I look at it this way," Birx told CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta. "The first time, we have an excuse. There were about 100,000 deaths that came from that original surge. All of the rest of them, in my mind, could have been mitigated or decreased substantially."

@fanuc2013 More remote nations like Australia & New Zealand did far better than Canada & Germany, but their isolation & lack of land borders are probably big factors in that. South Korea did AMAZINGLY well; they are the example we should all aspire to.

I picked Canada & Germany as comparisons to the US because both nations have large land borders and usually tons of travelers.

We saw Covid spread silenty in Italy & France and then start popping up all over. Trump's big mistake was ignoring that and trying to do "business as usual" for those five weeks, even though he knew early on that Covid was very dangerous.

Trump, Feb. 07 to Woodward: “It goes through the air. That’s always tougher than the touch. You don’t have to touch things. Right? But the air, you just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed. And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flus.”

Trump was listening to Fauci who was supposed to be the expert on the subject! And is now one of the darlings of the democrats!

He might have been listening, but he deff. didn't execute what was proposed to him. Exactly because Fauci was connected to the democratic party, even though Fauci helped several administrations, and even got a medal by George W. Bush in 2008 for his AIDS relief program.

It's Donald Trump and the MAGA-republicans and the MAGA-base that politicized COVID to a toxic degree. And everything that lives outside the MAGA circle, is automatically evil and shouldn't be listened too. That's why they threw out the plan that was made during the Obama era to help upcomming administrations when a pandemic breaks out.

So yeah... pointing at Fauci when we are talking about Trump, is like having your cake and eating it too. On one side Fauci wasn't listened too, but we also blame him for the consequences of not following procedures he suggested.

Absolutely. He seems like a genuinely altruistic guy who exudes trustworthiness and strength.

Not in the slightest bit self-interested and fundamentally weak. Nor a pathological liar, as some may say....

Most would, the rest are in denial.

I'll protect trump with a knuckle sandwich.

@Crazywaterspring delivered to harris?
Adrift · 61-69, F
@Crazywaterspring And he would return the favor by giving you one back.
Piper · 61-69, F
Uh...most definitely not. I believe Trump is the kind of person who would, for instance, grab another person to shield himself from gunshots. I believe this, based on who has shown himself to be through his own words and actions.

You will no longer be abandoned, lonely or scared. You will no longer be in danger. You’re not gonna be in danger any longer. You will no longer have anxiety from all of the problems our country has today. You will be protected, and I will be your protector. Women will be happy, healthy, confident and free. You will no longer be thinking about abortion.

I WILL PROTECT WOMEN AT A LEVEL NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

These recent words of his, are way beyond the usual, often 'empty promises' of politicians. He sounds like he thinks he's some all powerful being...not a mere mortal. Since he is, and one who has undeniably shown contempt for women, cheated on his wives, and admittedly just grabbed women he thinks are "beautiful" without their permission? Those words are laughable, in a not so funny way.
Adrift · 61-69, F
@Piper You believe he would grab someone to sheild himself from gunshots.. Uh thats isn't what I saw.
When he "was" shot at, the reaction he did have told me something else.
He wasn't scared, he was pissed.
Piper · 61-69, F
@Adrift What Trump did with a cadre of Secret Service agents protecting him and shielding him from harm, has nothing to do with what I believe he would do...if he did not have that protection.
If choosing a protector, would I choose someone old and overweight who dodged the draft and hasn't done a hard day's work in his life? 🤔 Hmm, tempting 🤔
BigImo · 26-30, F
I'd want to be protected from him
