Lmao! This question cracks me up. Of course i dont believe him when he says that. I simply remember my life was more affordable under Trump's presidency. Was that his doing? Eh lol probably not.
One thing is for sure though... i miss Obama. Sure. He did some great things and some not so great things. But i miss when he was president.

@astrosandorbits I'm not american but I also miss the Obama years. he was the last U.S. president that everyone in the world respected. He felt like the president of the world.
@astrosandorbits
Obama was presidential whether you liked him or not.
King of the golden toilet is a joke.
But sadly too many people stop at "My life was more affordable years ago under Trump" and don't carry on the way you have to recognize that, that likely had little to do with Trump's regime.

@reflectingmonkey i second it. I miss that so much. Like him or not... we were respected as a nation. Sure there were good and bad times like there always are. But Obama was a leader. A good one.

@Pikachu yeah the economy is far more nuanced than it being the result of one man's doing (even with the president's power). Sure the economy was better back in 2018... but there were a lot of other things that werent. It's one of the only positive things i really even remember from Trump's presidency.
@astrosandorbits
I think that's all a lot of people think of. But the same goes for Canada and the UK and the EU and pretty much everywhere. Things used to be more affordable and late stage capitalism is making it harder to stay afloat.
I doubt Trump was responsible globally for keeping things good and i doubt Biden in four years is responsible globally for things being more expensive

@Pikachu exactly. as an outsider (non-american) I always find it peculiar how some americans like to believe that the president is this all powerful being and that anything that happens is a direct consequence of his presidency. I always joke that they probably blame a bad huricane season on whoever happened to be president. cost of living went up drastically all over the world and its probably for complex reasons and only fools try to oversimplify things and say "it was that guy's fault" .
astrosandorbits · 26-30, M
@Pikachu agreed. It's a hot-buttoned issue this election because the economy isn't doing too well and americans are not too happy. But, with that being said, it goes far beyond just the president. The Trump experiment didn't work.

@reflectingmonkey dude (as you probably are already aware 🤣) there straight up are people in america that equate trump with God. It's sad. Laughable... but sad. I work with a girl who is one of them. And if i ever bring up opposition towards trump she loses her mind and all hell breaks loose. These people dont think critically about Trump at all. And that is the problem we have in America. People dont think critically about any of this. They're so blinded by the failed bipartisan scheme that it's essentially tribalism. I grew tired of it long ago.

@astrosandorbits well I must say that I blame religion for that , especially christianity. the bible convinced people that believing without seeing is a very godly thing and doubt is a sin. if you teach that to people at a young age it warps their ability to have critical thinking , they instead become people who "choose" what is true or not. My dad has a funny expression to describe that type of people " dont confuse me with facts, my mind is made up". I avoid certainty as if it was the plague.

@astrosandorbits How can you say that the economy isn't doing well now when all of the sporting events are sold out? If people didn't have money would they be able to go to those expensive games?
