Does the Russian language have a word for irony?

"Putin has cast the Ukrainian offensive as a “major provocation”. Sergei Mironov, leader of a Kremlin-loyal political party, called it a “terrorist attack” and “the invasion of an internationally recognised foreign territory”.

If they didn't want war, they shouldn't have started one.

The Russian bootlickers on my banned list are probably spouting of about how Ukraine started the war.

Ronald Reagan is crying in his grave.

It is a provocation and Ukraine may have made a horrible mistake. They have left their army vulnerable to encirclement, and this invasion could lead to Putin deciding that further measures need to be taken.

It seems the West wants an escalation.
@Vin53 what does the US have to gain? The US has been looking for a war with Russia since 1917.
@Vin53 In Ukraine the US gets their war with Russia and someone else does the dying.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You could've saved us both a lot of typing by just leading with that.

@Tastyfrzz

Da, darling!
Well if you look into the units behind it they are a bunch of neo nazi gangs larping as Russian resistance who just go on a rampage in Belgorod every so often. There is not military value to any of it and is just about killing mostly civilians. I mean they have openly stated it is about "bringing the war to the Russian people" which is a euphemism for slaughtering civilians.

And whether Ukraine admits to these gangs being with them depends on Budanov's mood that day.
@Daviszabecki It is a bit more complicated than that. And there is a reason why we have decided generally speaking that there are laws of war.

And that is the same excuse being used for almost 40 000 people being killed in Gaza.

Sorry but "they started it" stops being a valid excuse in kindergarten.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow you’ve got a point, definitely. It’s just that the proportions are there to be considered. If we want to compare with Gaza, who is who in this conflict?

Oh good lord. The brains need more scrubbing! "Quick, I say, QUICKLY"

That is exactly what some people want....just sad.
Cierzo · M
Putin has been too soft on Ukraine and these are the consequences.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@Cierzo invading another country is too soft?
Cierzo · M
@Convivial It is self-defence. And yes, if you compare it with the REAL American/NATO invasions in Irak or Afghanistan, it has been WAY TOO soft.

@msros Not really. That would be like in a hypothetical fight between Canada and the US it would be like Canada attacking Pembina, ND.
