Vin53 Generally speaking, the candidate who wins is the one with a more positive, optimistic outlook that talks about moving the country foreword. The last time the country stuck with the same party when an incumbent wasn't running is Bush in 1988.
Trump was thrown out in 2020. I don't see Trump tapping into many new voters with his current rhetoric. Democrats only lose if they have low turnout, or 2020 Biden voters vote 3rd party.
Trump says nothing positive. Only talks about how bad everyone else is, how only he can fix it, how everything is unfair against him. Generally, that attitude turns people off.
They say this race is a tossup. My feeling right now is that it is Harris' to lose. If she can maintain energy and get Biden's 2020 voters excited about voting for her, she wins easily.
Another stat to think about - young people overwhelmingly favor Harris. Not even close. And COVID killed a few million in this country, and I'd suspect disproportionally killed Trump voters.
