Trump Will Fire JD Vance

You heard it here first. Trump has tied a big fat albatross around his neck and it's beginning to smell and drag him down. I look for Trump to fire him and pick a new Veep candidate in the next two weeks. Probably around the time of the convention.

He believes this will make him look strong and decisive. But the effect will be just the opposite. He will appear to tentative, indecisive and incompetent. Trump has failed at making the most important decision of his entire campaign. And there is no guarantee his next pick will be any better.
He can’t. Vance is the official nominee and would have to step down voluntarily. His departure would also upset Elon Musk and Peter Thiel, who lobbied for him. Vance being replaced would also contribute to the “Trump campaign in disarray” narrative.

However, just because it’s a bad look doesn’t mean it won’t happen. We’re also very close to several states’ ballot deadlines (which is why the Democrats locked down Harris and Walz before the convention), so if they replace Vance, they need to do it immediately.

@BohemianBabe you’re in a democratic cult , you toe that democrat party line
@Thinkerbell Biden could have stayed in the race even without the support of "big donors." Trump is pulling in around one-third of what Harris is getting in donations; is he being "forced out?" What you can't comprehend is Biden putting the welfare of the country ahead of his own ego, because Trump would never do that.

Obviously, I don't have inside knowledge. It's possible there was some planning to transition to Harris before the debate in case Biden flubbed it - which he did. If Biden had knocked it out of the park, we wouldn't be having this discussion. You have to admit, the transition went remarkably well. So are the Democrats logistical geniuses, or were preparations made earlier? It's one or the other.

If you have proof that Biden's family made any money through "corruption," please share it. Of course, you can't because you don't want to admit that the Trump family made millions through illegal campaign donations and payoffs from foreign dictators.

Ah yes, the Democratic Party line is to condemn Biden for funding Israel.

Trump will not do any such thing. Let me count the ways you are WRONG:

1. Yes, most of us would have preferred Trump pick Florida Governor DeSantis for a running mate. The election would be over at that point. He'd win in a landslide. But he chose Vance.

2. Vance has done NOTHING to detract from the ticket. He has offered a fresh voice of middle American mainstream conservatism, and his biography "HIllbilly Elegy" is the stuff legends are made from.

3. If ANYTHING Mike Pence was a mistake. Trump should chosen Senator Cruz. The landslide against KKKlinton would have been even bigger.

4. Trump is one of the most brilliant businessmen in America. The LAST thing he would do would be to fire a qualified asset like Vance. He and Vance are going to WIN in November.

5. When Vance debates TAMPON TIM, he'll put that far left creep in his place and further weaken the KKKamala ticket.

6. The Trump/KKK debate will seal the election for the Republicans, and probably add some Republican seats in Congress.

@Reason10 Thanks for the daily joke.
🥱 we've been hearing that leftwing nonsense the moment that Vance was announced as Trump's running mate.

Well guys, lets just let Kamala Harris win. After all there has never been a black woman President. Its kind of their turn. Or you know however it works in Liberal Utopia Land. I honestly don't care anymore. On November 5th, Im going to go vote for Donald Trump. Then Im going to go buy a gun. Then Im going to have a steak and go to sleep. If society breaks down, I'll use my gun to defend myself. If not, I'll put it in the safe and take it to the range on Saturday. You can go ahead and let America fall to ruins. Im going to survive no matter what.

Quotes from Vance's Elegy, excerpted by "The Daily Howler"

I tried to go to a counselor, but it was just too weird. Talking to some stranger about my feelings made me want to vomit. I did go to the library, and I learned that behavior I considered commonplace was the subject of pretty intense academic study. Psychologists call the everyday occurrences of my and [his sister] Lindsay's life “adverse childhood experiences,” or ACEs. ACEs are traumatic childhood events, and their consequences reach far into adulthood.

. . .

I thought a lot about myself, about the emotional triggers I’d learned over eighteen years of living at home. I realized that I mistrusted apologies, as they were often used to convince you to lower your guard. It was an “I’m sorry” that convinced me to take that fateful car ride with Mom more than a decade earlier. And I began to understand why I used words as weapons: That’s what everyone around me did; I did it to survive. Disagreements were war, and you played to win the game.

I didn’t unlearn these lessons overnight. I continue to struggle with conflict, to fight the statistical odds that sometimes seem to bear down on me. Sometimes it’s easier knowing that the statistics suggest I should be in jail or fathering my fourth illegitimate child. And sometimes it’s harder—conflict and family breakdown seem like the destiny I can’t possibly escape. In my worst moments, I convince myself that there is no exit, and no matter how much I fight old demons, they are as much an inheritance as my blue eyes and brown hair. The sad fact is that I couldn’t do it without Usha. Even at my best, I’m a delayed explosion—I can be defused, but only with skill and precision. It’s not just that I’ve learned to control myself but that Usha has learned how to manage me. Put two of me in the same home and you have a positively radioactive situation. It’s no surprise that every single person in my family who has built a successful home—Aunt Wee, Lindsay, my cousin Gail—married someone from outside our little culture.

Vance is a smart guy. He's gotta know how TOXIC Trump is. Maybe not toxic in the same ways as Vance's family was during his childhood, but highly toxic non the less. I think inside Vance there's a battle between ambition and self preservation, and I don't know which will win.

Why wouldn't you know? Look within and find out. You are not a Martian or some alien life form. You are a human being like Vance is. Do you think Vance is not toxic in his own way just as you are toxic in yours. Feeling holier than thou is a mindset.
Reason10 · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues Trump is the best president in the history of America. He has the best record, economically and foreign policy wise.
The TOXIC people are the DemoNAZIS.
@Reason10 Hmmm

The Republican convention was almost a month ago. Do you mean the Democratic convention, I assume?

It's possible, but I rather doubt it. The GOP has invested too much in Vance to be able to agree to booting him off the ticket, no matter how much Trump might want it. Even Dear Leader has only so much power to control his cult.
helenS · 36-40, F
I'm not an American – is the choice of a good "running mate" really that important when it's about the main candidate's chances of winning the elections??
helenS · 36-40, F
@MoveAlong Thank you – good to know 🌷
TheShanachie · 61-69, M
@helenS in general it makes absolutely no difference in the election outcome. With the current Republican candidate for President, there would be no way to match him up with a stable running mate.

Sounds like something you would do. Are you still married to the same woman?
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@sree251 For over 50 years. I chose well. I always do. And I'm choosing Harris/Walz.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@MoveAlong Give me a break. There is no way you could have chosen a twin flame. Trump will stick with Vance the way you stuck with your marriage.

Oh I really hope so. But Trump will spin it and blame the Dems for replacing Biden.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I heard that the day after he picked Vance. The problem for Trump is that replacing Vance now makes it look like he made a mistake. I'm not sure Trump is willing to risk that impression even if Vance is weighing him down.

I may be wrong though. Trump's must recent narrative is that the VP doesn't matter because he's only a backup 🤣 Part of that is to select away from the bad choice, but also Trump doesn't like how much the media has been paying attention to Vance instead of him.
pikminboy · 31-35, M
Trump had pence , and now its Vance

@swirlie I’ve read that Vance has a pattern of sucking up to get power and then ultimately betraying his mentors when he gets it, so he must think it’s his best route to the presidency. I’m surprised Trump chose him. He’s well-educated and ambitious. When push comes to shove he’ll drop Trump like a bad habit. Does Trump really think Vance is loyal to him? Or was he actually looking for something other than loyalty in a running mate?
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Theyitis
Trump doesn't think that anyone is loyal to him; he forces their loyalty like a mafia boss by threatening to expose some aspect of them publicly. That's how Trump operated in the corporate world since the 1980's.

What Trump is looking for is someone to fill the VP seat who will act as Trump's puppet for as long as Trump can use him and abuse him. Trump won't hesitate to trash Vance and Trump will do it if Trump loses this next Election. He will blame his loss on Vance.

@MoveAlong I hope I didn't appear to be calling out any servicemen. I respect people who serve but I don't disrespect someone who didn't. Not everyone should be a soldier or sailor. I served with people who definitely shouldn't have been there.
