What did Trump mean by this statement? Discuss

[media=https://tiktok.com/7396239562365783326]

"It will be fixed, it will be fine”.
The former President told Christians at a conservative event in Florida on Friday, July 26.

Former President Trump addressed Christian voters to vote for him and claimed they "won't have to do it anymore" after the election in November.
"It'll be fixed, it'll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore," the GOP presidential nominee told the crowd at the conservative Turning Point Action event
He continued his speech by saying, "We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote."

What did Trump mean by this? If he wins does that mean US voters won’t need to vote anymore?

What are your thoughts?

I'm tempted to do a longer post on this.

Saying that Trump will end US democracy is wrong and hyperbolic but it's not completely unfounded.

Some compare him to Hitler but the comparison to make is with Hungary's Viktor Orban. He has incrementally made his country less democratic.

Democracy/dictatorship isn't a binary and exists on a spectrum. If he wins, trump will move the US another notch on that.
@Burnley123 what about the Jerusalem embassy great ascension book of revelation thing?
Ynotisay · M
@LordShadowfire Yep. That along with 140 former Trump staffers involved with it. They're a heartbeat away from the Presidency if Trump was to be elected. Their plan wouldn't be implemented overnight. But given where the courts in this country are right now?

"We are now all realizing that it's time to circle the wagons and load the muskets.In the fights that lay ahead, these ideas are an essential weapon."

JD Vance
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Burnley123 I agree with you, it won’t be good if he wins though.
GuiltyBiStander · 31-35, F
It's very nuanced. Full of deep meanings, only clear to the chosen few. The hidden message is -

"Unless you're completely brainwashed, vote for somone else. Anyone else, who's not a corrupt sociopath."

I think I will.
@GuiltyBiStander nothing about the book of revelation and the apocalypse Mike pence believes in.
Northwest · M
This is like him saying to the Georgia Sec. of State to find an extra 11,400 votes for him.

It can be interpreted in a number of ways. Enough ambiguity so he can pretend he did not mean what he actually did.

But, this is the Trump that was coached in life from the likes of Roy Cohn. These are the people who actually mean it, and pretend they don't, until they get what they want, and then it's too late.

Thin of the worse possible scenario: that's what he means. It's about the people that inspired him, and what they actually did versus, for instance, finding inspiration in someone like Mother Theresa.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Northwest why don’t Republicans see this? This isn’t Freedom, not at all.
Northwest · M
@iamonfire696 these are no longer republicans. This is now the party of Trump.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Northwest you’re right.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
It means Christians will be respected again and will not be politically targeted anymore
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 okay I can see that you're just one of those liberals who's going to ignore every piece of evidence I give you
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@TheRascallyOne we aren’t talking about Christian’s. We are talking about what Trump said.

I can see you’re a Republican that can stick to a topic and has to deflect.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 im telling why he said what he said.

I vacillate back-and-forth on whether or not he is the antichrist. It’s impossible to say what he meant without the full scope of the context to his comments. The art of truth telling these days seems a revolutionary act.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Madmonk it is insanity to me.

@iamonfire696 me as well. At least you are in Canada

@iamonfire696 Please send help.
Honestly, I wouldn't read too much into it except maybe Trump doesn't expect to running for election in 2028. He's the savior and he NEEDs to win, but I think reading too much more into it is a mistake.

Does he know it sounds dictatorish? Sure, but like the day 1 thing, he can explain that away, and I don't think he has any real intention of following through with much of anything in Project 2025 or even his own campaign's plan.

Again, it's "dictatorish," and it's a little telling that he's not really focusing on the need to win Congressional races to deliver on his promises, but I don't think its new evidence of an actual plan on his part to fully seize power, end elections, etc.

He needs to win to fully shut down his own legal problems, and I'm sure he'd like to to feed at the public trough again, both financially and ego-wise, but even if some Trumpists think he'll deliver Gilead in 4 years, I dont think that will be his priority.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@AbbySvenz You’re right
black4white · 56-60, M
@MistyCee IF Orangeman wins his goal is to make it so that USA no longer votes and he just remains in office indefinitely and then he can pass it on to his kids etc etc

The way the Supreme Court is acting is just as embarrassing as he is and they probably would let something like that happen
@black4white Realistically, I don't think any of his kids are up to it and they know it.

Trumpism certainly hits on issues, grievances, and policies, but it's mostly a personality cult.

@iamonfire696 I imagine a lot of the insurrectionists were just there following the crowd. Big mistake.

It has been said that one should not let the bad behavior of others cause us to mess up as well.

But for real, who in the HAIL would think for even one moment that storming capital hill is a good idea? There's just certain things one does not do.
This comment is hidden. Show Comment
@Punches Which is why many rioters received light sentences. In fact, on average their sentences were shorter than BLM protesters'.

It's easy to get caught up in a crowd. Once, when I was in college, I attended a rally for the university to divest from South Africa. At one point, we "occupied" an administration building. A bunch of us just walked in and sat down. I stayed for a while, then left because I had to get back to class. But if people had started breaking windows or smashing doors, I would have left as soon as that started. So I have some sympathy for people who followed the crowd and just wandered into the Capitol through the entrances where the police just let them in. But I have no sympathy for the people who climbed the walls, broke through barricades, or attacked the police who were trying to stop them.
kodiac · 22-25, M
What Trump meant was he will undo the chains holding our country down imposed by obozo / biden . Will fix the damage so next election the fate of thr country won't hang in the balance so the next election won't be as important.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@iamonfire696 But it won't affect you one bit
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@kodiac But why would you support a man like this and blindly say that he’s got your best interests at heart?

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound. I just showed you that he wants to cut funding to a social program that people rely on. One that you will rely on in your retirement.

Does that make sense to you? Do you actually research what he’s telling you?

Pretend I am not Canadian, what does that matter? You must have no response to what I have shown you because facts are facts. He doesn’t care about the American people. It’s really sad that you think he does.

My thoughts are that his campaign goes flaccid by November and Kamala wins by a couple percentage points in the popular vote.

She should carry the Electoral as well, which is the deciding factor above all else.
Madmonk · M
@iamonfire696 the pres isn’t in charge of anything if much at all. Everything is going to be fine regardless.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Madmonk I hope so
Punches · 46-50, F
@Adogslife Normally when I am in my car, I just listen to NPR (they have stations all over the US) but anyways, all they used to talk about was Trump but that has mostly gone silent since Biden dropped out of the running.

It just seems bizarre, like Trump is fresh out of shenanigans so nothing interesting to report.

the pres isn’t in charge of anything if much at all. Everything is going to be fine regardless.
yeah no matter who is in office, they are usually just the puppet/scapegoat.

Even being so, people are just tired of Trump's presence.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
The ONLY thing he cares about is himself. Nothing else matters, no other thought enters his process. So, vote for him one more time and that's it. You can be done. No need to ever vote again because he won't be able to be on the ballot so no future outcomes matter. It's all about him.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@sarabee1995 that’s a good interpretation too

@Punches He's also waay too old to be potus. 😁
Punches · 46-50, F
@Vin53 That is true, I mean after age 75, pretty much anyone is living on borrowed time.
They hounded Biden for being too old, yet Trump is barely any younger.

Trump is becoming senile, how bad is it going to be a couple years from now? He is going to start hallucinating that he was there when the constitution was signed or something.

One of his promises was that he is going to build a dome over the US. Yeah THAT is gonna happen. 🙄
Vin53 · M
@Punches He's had that same trump Jet for 275yrs straight.
The guy who tried to end democracy before might be trying to end democracy.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@BohemianBabe agreed
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
He said exactly what he meant.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@DunningKruger I think so too
KingofBones1 · 46-50, M
Well it's kind of like Biden or somebody in his cabinet made the suggestion the other day that we should only have an election once every 18 years instead of every four sounds like both sides are trying to become Kings to me
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@KingofBones1 if you’re going to speak on something then you should be giving the correct information.

Trump doesn’t care about you, he wants to cut taxes for the rich, that’s not going to help you unless you’re extremely wealthy.
Punches · 46-50, F
@iamonfire696 I do not see how the rich can get tax cuts. I mean do they even pay any taxes at this point?
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Punches that’s the point, Trump wants to keep them from paying tax.
SW-User
He meant exactly that.

So vote him out.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@SW-User I agree. I feel bad for the US, so much turmoil.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
I think he was just running his mouth and trumpin'

I don't think he meant he was going to make himself dictator for life.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Pretzel you have more hope than I do
Pretzel · 70-79, M
@iamonfire696 probably and I hope I am not wrong too
My take on it is that he meant he would be dead within 4 years, and so would most of his voting base, due to old age. So he was just telling them that they wouldn't have to worry about the next election as they'd be dead 🙂
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@UBotMate we can only hope and 🙏🏻
Only a small minority believe in the apocalypse, but Trump moved the Israel embassy to Jerusalem for them.

@Ontheroad maybe he said the quiet things out loud.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
That would almost certainly be a reference to the section of Project 2025 where they promise to replace members of the so-called deep state (really just all the federal employees who were hired rather than elected or appointed) with MAGA-loyal Trump appointees who will ensure that no "woke" legislation ever gets passed again.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@iamonfire696 I know. The fact that there are literally people who want to live in an episode of Leave It To Beaver, and actually think that's going to happen with Project 2025, terrifies me. It actually frightens me even more than all the Trumpublicans who think it won't happen.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@LordShadowfire it unnerving to see that they think he will bring them freedom and wealth.
Punches · 46-50, F
@LordShadowfire
Me, too. I've had arguments with people on Twitter who literally tell me Project 2025 will fix America.

America needs to realize that no matter who someone is, their rights could just as easily be stripped if GOP gets back in.
The only reason some people like Trump is because he appeals to their hateful side.

@iamonfire696 yes i know there are other people outside the us . But what they want or think doesn't affect the election in the US . Most foreign Trump haters sre only worried he will cut off the n flow of foreign aid .We can only hope and pray he does.
Punches · 46-50, F
@kodiac
Most foreign Trump haters are only worried he will cut off the flow of foreign aid .We can only hope and pray he does.

Suppose all aid was cut to other countries. Where do you think they will come to when there are problems in their own nation?

You think we have a lot of immigrants now? If Trump gets back in and cuts off foreign aid, just wait and see what happens.

It is kind of like if your neighbors were in trouble, suppose your choices were to either send them aid or have them come stay at your house.

Besides, whatever money would be saved by cutting foreign aid would end up in the hands of the rich, NOT everyday people like you and me.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@kodiac Do you think we should cut off aid to red states? Most of the red states get significantly more in federal aid than they pay in taxes. They are a net drain on the US economy and are keeping the rest of the country down.
