Thoughts on Vivek Ramaswamy?

I believe he will be president someday. I’m in favor of this.
ABCDEF7 · M
I don't see it. Many Americans don't want a non-Christian President.
4meAndyou · F
@ABCDEF7 Well, considering that Ramaswamy is Hindu, and considering that his beliefs are extremely complex...instead of trying to become a student of his beliefs, I think it is enough that I accept him and whatever beliefs he has.
ABCDEF7 · M
@4meAndyou Hahaha.. But it sure his believes are not against any others' believes. Right way to conclude 👍

@ABCDEF7 🤣🤣🤣

I LOVE Vivek. Not as much as Trump, but I love to hear him speak. He really has his act together. I wish Trump had chosen him as VP. But he has national name recognition now, and I suspect Trump might be able to use him in his cabinet.

I am in favor of him being Prime Minister of India.

I prefer him over Vance. But wasn't thrilled with many of his positions when he was campaigning.

He'll have to gain a deeper understanding of statecraft before I support him.

I appreciate your optimism for Vivek Ramaswamy. His vision and leadership qualities indeed make him a promising future leader.
The dude is basically an AI chatbot's idea of what a 2000s Bush era Republican should be.

I’m impressed he didn’t turn into a scaramoochie after he wasn’t picked for VP..

Never going to happen. He is not pure Christian.

There's never been a president of some form of Christianity.

I'm not Christian myself. So this is not form of discrimination.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@BohemianBabe Biden is Catholic though so there's definitely more tolerance.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@BohemianBabe I'm surprised the evangelicals haven't been preaching about Biden allowing the pope to dictate policy. (He doesn't)
@Crazywaterspring Well they can't yet because they still need the Catholic vote. After Project 2025, things will be different. I'm guessing after they finish off the traditional "enemies," they'll start suppressing all religions outside of Protestantism.

better candidate for VP than Vance imo.
He has a long surname.

He is, I think, looking for a job.

No longer has to wonder what to discuss with CRIII in weekly meetings.

Now can be AM, since no longer PM...

@SomeMichGuy
He is, I think, looking for a job.
He is also a critic of environmental, social, and corporate governance initiatives (ESG). In January 2024, Forbes estimated Ramaswamy's net worth at more than $960 million; his wealth comes from biotech and financial businesses.

He probably makes a decent slurpee at whatever 7/11 he works at.
@independentone Racist much?
@NativePortlander1970 butt hurt much?
@independentone yet Indians in America have an average salary of £150k more than double the national average..... is this jealousy or pure racism?

Vivek who?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Honestly don't know much about him.
I will at least give him props for calling out both Biden and Trump for ignoring the plight of the indigenous Armenians of Karabakh after Azerbaijanis ethnically cleansed them.
He's nothing more than another wealthy first generation that assumes he's better than us multigenerationals.

@BohemianBabe Neo-Nazis hate Catholics, and his wife is brown. Vance lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. There are no fascist there except a few skin head outcasts. Vance is a prime target for Neo-Nazis.

And a Paleo-Cpmservative, in the original meaning before the wiki for it was hijacked by the left a few years back, was someone who embraced the ideals of the founding fathers, usually the Federalist or Anti-Federalist Paper Debates. I myself usually went under a John Adams Independent if specifically asked.

Then Paleo-Conservative was later taken from it's 18th and early 19th century roots and remade into conservatives of the first half of the 20th century, which made little sense to me because we had a couple of presidents who was both a Progressive AND a Conservative. They don't teach that fact anymore in school, that fkr a brief time the two groups were unified.

But by the time the leftists hujacked paleo-conservatives to mean Nazis and anything racist, which it most certainly was not originally, most of the original users, myself included, just gave up on it. It's very much a imaginary boogeyman creation of the left at this point with no bearings on anything anyone actually follows.

Cincinnati, Ohio is a catholic town. It's ran intellectually by catholics. It's also a liberal sanctuary city. Many traditional catholics lean left. It turns republican about 20 minutes outside the city when you hit the big billboard on the way to Columbus, Ohio with the 10 commandments on it.

That's right. Your trad-caths are liberals like you. They are not nazis. They voted for Biden.

@Motzu you are so right. My experience is that Catholic parishes lean left at a 2 to 1 ration. The emphasis is on love, forgiveness and tolerance. I lived in Columbus for a few years, what seems like a thousand years ago. As I recall one homely, the priest quoted from Simon and Garfunkel lyrics, another was about not allowing self righteousness to overwhelm compassion.
