He's worked hard to purge Labour of anything that even remotely smells of the left. This isn't Labour. It's something else.
Luciebelle · F
@Richard65 I think most people don't care about ideology so much as practicality. So take left wing ideas and temper them a bit, and you get something more centrist (and appealing to more people). The tories ought to be doing the same from the other side but for the moment are probably going off wandering in the right and out of power for a while.

Anyway Starmer by all accounts is rather more left wing than things suggest, but he looks at things practically rather than what feels good or, if he could wave a wand, he might want as ideal. Even if I'm not super sure about Labour as a whole, he is absolutely the sort of person I want as prime minister.

Anyway (again), it's done now. We can all hope for the best :D And maybe have a quick nap

@Luciebelle Starmer literally cannot open his mouth without lying. He's a shyster, just like Johnson, just like Farage.
Best wishes.

@Richard65 let’s give the guy a chance

He definitely deserves it. Difficult to think of another senior politician who has been so dedicated to public life.
@SunshineGirl One solution here are "family" bathrooms, which are a small room with a toilet and sink (and usually an infant changing table) intended for one person.

The problem with an anti-trans bathroom law is enforcement. Will public toilets be required to have inspectors to check the genitals of anyone who wants to use them? Which bathroom does Buck Angel use? I can see many women being uncomfortable with him in the bathroom next to them. But if you make an exception for "convincing" trans people, that's kind of what we have now - you use the restroom that matches how you identify.

@LeopoldBloom We have had similar in public swimming pools for years. It wasn't really an issue until that particular culture battle was exported from the other side of the Atlantic. Now everyone has to have an opinion, apparently. Sometimes it feels like right wing virtue signalling. It is obviously a criminal offence to physically assault anyone. However, our conservative government thought it necessary to create a separate offence of assault against shopworkers (mainly to detract attention from the growing poverty that is leading to high leveks of shoplifting). That's not great government.
@SunshineGirl It's amazing how many otherwise non-political issues are hijacked by politics. Climate change would be a good example. Or the response to COVID.

Whattttt. A knight, member of the tri-lateral commission (stated goal is to "curb the excess of democracy"), on camera saying he will pick the decrees of davos/wef over the uk people, shady barrister (see saville, assange and PIE) became prime minister. I would be shocked if this wasnt predicted since 2020.

This chap is owned and is installed to further the agenda.

@Luciebelle sneaky suspicion you will delete your messages:

@Luciebelle clearly thick as mince and an odious character. And before you start lauding him again you should really know who you are praising
Luciebelle · F
@gol979 That's so obviously fake I'm embarrassed for you. Faces, lips, hand gestures, really don't match what's being said.

I don't doubt he might have said that Westminster is a useless shouty place though - it clearly is.
Even though I followed the polls throughout the campaign period and I knew that the Tories were going to be getting a pasting... I never thought that it would be as bad as this.

I'm still worried that Duncan Smith got in again, though - I'm not sure that I have the stomach to see what he might do to state welfare this time.

Hopefully, Sir Keir will get things sorted out for us all soon.

What do you think the summer recess will be like now that we have a new government???
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Currently the Conservatives have just 69 seats.
(Counting still continues according to BBC news)

That's less than 50% of the MORI poll predicted last night as counting began.

That's beyond wipe-out !

I only hope inflation stays low, Labour usually blows it and pensioners pensions will de-value.
It's time for labour to deliver. The population has been stalled by Neo liberalism too long.
