@gol979 He was a dedicated and skilled Director of Public Prosecutions while I was a civil servant. Before that he saved numerous lives as a human rights barrister defending death row inmates in the Caribbean.
@SunshineGirl yeah, yeah. Lets just ignore his connections with PIE, saville and assange. Lets ignore his real affiliations, davos and the tri-lateral commission. He is a professional scrote
@gol979 where is the fantasy? I know that statists are like a cult but nothing i have said is incorrect. Actually keep on beleiving, you are beyond lost
@SunshineGirl Apparently Labour only increased their share of the vote by 2% it looks like the Tory voters switched to the Lib Dems and the Reform Party.
SW-User
@senghenydd there would be another set of voters in their early twenties, replacing old people like me.
Perhaps the new geration focuses on issues if today rather than political loyslty.
@SW-User Scotland is a very good result, it looks Scotland will stay in the United Kingdom.
Since watching Prime-Ministers Question Time (PMQs) on numerous occasions I've moved away from believing the two party system works, obviously I'm not on my own.
@SunshineGirl Are you "ambivalent" about this person using the ladies room because they were born female? Everyone gets excited over trans women but forgets about trans men.
You've probably used the bathroom next to trans women without even knowing it. I don't know what the problem is, it's already illegal for a man to sneak into the ladies room and assault women, regardless of how he looks or what he's wearing. This issue comes across as the anti-gay crowd deciding that they're going to go after trans women out of pure spite.
@LeopoldBloom It doesn't bother me personally and yes I have knowingly and probably unknowingly used facilities alongside trans women. But I do empathise with those who genuinely feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
@SunshineGirl One solution here are "family" bathrooms, which are a small room with a toilet and sink (and usually an infant changing table) intended for one person.
The problem with an anti-trans bathroom law is enforcement. Will public toilets be required to have inspectors to check the genitals of anyone who wants to use them? Which bathroom does Buck Angel use? I can see many women being uncomfortable with him in the bathroom next to them. But if you make an exception for "convincing" trans people, that's kind of what we have now - you use the restroom that matches how you identify.
@LeopoldBloom We have had similar in public swimming pools for years. It wasn't really an issue until that particular culture battle was exported from the other side of the Atlantic. Now everyone has to have an opinion, apparently. Sometimes it feels like right wing virtue signalling. It is obviously a criminal offence to physically assault anyone. However, our conservative government thought it necessary to create a separate offence of assault against shopworkers (mainly to detract attention from the growing poverty that is leading to high leveks of shoplifting). That's not great government.
@SunshineGirl It's amazing how many otherwise non-political issues are hijacked by politics. Climate change would be a good example. Or the response to COVID.
