Joe Biden is missing a great opportunity…

With the Supreme Court voting to allow POTUS immunity from criminal acts while President, Joe could have Trump neutralized and be immune from prosecution.
Oh, no, that's not how this works. See, the ruling means that the SCOTUS will decide whether or not a crime was an "official act." And the Republicans control the SCOTUS, so if Biden broke laws like Trump, they'll just say those crimes don't count as official acts. Basically, this is a blank check but only for Republicans.
@Zaphod42 Sure, but then the president could just demand the case go to the supreme court.

@BohemianBabe True, but wouldn’t it’s still have to work its way up the appeals process first? SCOTUS doesn’t typically hear a case that hasn’t been appealed yet…at least I think that’s how it works.

I think Beau’s take on YouTube is probably pretty accurate…that this will ping pong up and down the courts for several years until we finally have a more clear definition of official acts and non official acts.
@Zaphod42 Yeah, but what that amounts to is a blank check for Republican presidents. Either it ping pongs for literally decades, and a decision is never made, or it ends up at the SCOTUS and they just declare the crime an "official act."
This is usually how authoritarianism works. The law is always very unclear, so the people in charge can interpret it however they want. Ron DeSantis' "Don't Say Gay" bill never actually say teachers couldn't say "gay." But it was phrased in a way that would essentially only harm queer people.

This ruling is based on the fact they know Dems will stick to the playbook no matter what, and they'll get to be the only who will use this newly acquired power.

The US is pretty much cooked.

Please, things are bad enough.

@justanothername I thought so. Maybe it was a Freudian slip.

@Nitedoc couldn’t possibly comment.

@justanothername Of course you can. You're loving this!

That is a tyrant move if you honestly want civil war that is how you do it not to mention wildly unconstitutional. The removal of political opposition in the manner suggested is beyond official business. What justification would it be to do that?

We are entering dangerous times. If you can think it I can only imagine what Donald Trump is thinking
@James25 And he's not even the biggest threat. I'm even more worried about what a competent Fascist is going to do when they replace Trump.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
Don't give him any ideas.

@justanothername That doesn't ring a bell but I may check. I still have a paper copy of: The Art of War.

@Nitedoc Hollywood has credited Sun su with many quotes. That’s the main one that comes to mind in this situation.

@justanothername It's been a long time since I've read it. Hollywood is not much of a credible source. When you a Jinja portrayed in a movie they are wearing all black including hoods and face covering. The reason the Ninja were so hard to find is because they were experts at blinding in with the everyday people around them. They did nothing that would draw attention to them like wearing all black.
