What happened to politics?

Disagreement is from all times, but it used to be about things like:
- Should we subsidize housing or offer job coaching to get homeless people back on their feet?
- Should we try diplomacy or supply weapons to the resistance to stop the killing of innocent people?

Somehow that changed into: should we do anything for the homeless and save innocent people or not?

How did we go from discussing the best approach of protecting human rights to discussing ethics and morals? 🤔
And what do voters think to gain from giving up on human rights?

Some people don't know how to do politics right. It should be about listening to multiple points of view and compromising, just as in everyday life. Some politicians are so self-centred and entitled that they are incapable of empathising and communicating constructively. Others bring a religious-like dogmatic certainty, which again excludes the possibility of compromise and understanding.

@SunshineGirl The problem is, most of the folks on one side have begun refusing to listen to the other side because they choose to listen to lies about the other side. And those lies are coming from rich people with an agenda. Sadly, the people who believe the lies think that the rich people with an agenda are on the side of poor people.
