Free speech?

Does it include the right to continuously shout so as to prevent others from speaking?
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Free speech these days is not free speech anymore as the loony lefties only want free speech if you agree with them
Vin53 · M
You mean like trump did with Biden at their debate?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@Vin53 The MAGA crowd have such a selective memory.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@justanothername It boils down to the MAGA vs MAWA.

Free speech has always had limitations placed upon it for good reason...i think the simplest explanation is it SHOULD be based on respect for others first
WandererTony · 56-60, M
No. There has to be respect for others.
At the same time, we have to understand why anyone needs to shout! Are they feeling unheard? We need to consider.

That is what is being taught in schools. Political agitators use that technique all the time so that those who oppose them can't be heard.

Some people seem to think so.
No. Nobody thinks there's a right that murkans want. Wars,? Yeah baby,! No protest can stop the killers.
Unironically, yes.
The first amendment freedom of speech only technically protects US Citizens from retaliation from the government when criticizing politicians and the government in a peaceful non malicious way, but over the ages the true intent has been perverted through US Supreme Court rulings.

@Heartlander It would appear then that you just answered your own question.

@Vin53 Probably :) Government exists to serve the people, but shouldn't have to cave to or even put up with the tyranny of a few big mouths trying to shout everyone else down. Everyone deserves a chance at the mic, where the amplifier will serve as everyone's opportunity to shout.
