Israel should take Iran’s failed attack as a victory and not retaliate since no targets were destroyed

And should focus back on Rafah and hostage negotiations instead. At the end of the day Iran does not want to go to war with Israel or the U.S. the fact that this so called retaliation was warned 9 hours in advance is proof of this. It gave other countries, Israel and and its allies enough time to respond. And apparently Iran said the attacks achieved all its objectives (whatever that means) And that it’s not planning any further operations. Overall Israel got to show off its amazing Iron Dome, and Iran demonstrated their “strength” to Iranians and its supporters through their state media.

Just from a strict diplomatic standpoint Iran’s strike was retaliation for the ambassy bombing

@Aidankenny23 As if Iran would get justice at the Hague. No chance of that.
@Burnley123 no but they could have garnered sympathy among their allies, and could have showed restraint as they know it’s a war they cannot win
trollslayer · 46-50, M
Agreed. Frankly, i think Iran knew they would not hit anything, and this was for internal propaganda. Israel should respond, but by using a cyber attack or similar nuisance, just to say they did. But knowing Netanyahu, they will be instead out for revenge and respond in a way that is disproportionate to iran’s attack.
Reason10 · 61-69, M
@trollslayer Netanyahu should send drones over Iran with EMP emitters and blast away all their electronics. Blast them back to the Stone Age,which is where the ragheads want to be anyway.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@Reason10 typical bigot response.
paulio · M
@Reason10 usa did this in iraq with shock ands awe, then nivaded fought for 13 years, then left in a hurry, tactical retreat,

agree that was kinda ridiculous... iran is now the laughing stock of military operations
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@Strawberrry as long as their citizens don’t know their attack failed, then their objective was reached.
paulio · M
@Strawberrry it didnt fail, thye wer elooking for weak points, now thye know where they are next atack willbe more successful
It is in Netanyahu's interests to ensure the hostages remain in Gaza. In this way, he can claim that now is not the time for elections, which he will probably lose and will then be facing myriad criminal charges that he has desperately been trying to avoid.

Also, Netanyahu has successfully deflected from the atrocities his forces are carrying out in Gaza with this attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus. Iran has walked right into his trap and he now has a mandate to attack Iran as well, with the full backing again on the US, which was severely wavering.

I doubt that. The first hostage deal says otherwise as well as the recovery of some hostages that have been found.

And no, Israel did not strike an Iranian embassy in Syria.

[/quote] Well, they neither confirmed nor denied.

Iran, in their ignorance, fell for the trap set by Netanyahu.
Now the entire focus is on a possible larger conflict with Iran and their supporters, and turns ones attention away from the continued destruction of Gaza and innocent peoples deaths.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
True, it’s mostly about egos and the pressure from the nations public that makes nations and their leaders take bold but foolish decisions. Hope this de-escalates 🤞

the first strikein a war is ot find the enemies weaknesses, now iran knows them, next time 50% will get through, israel should stop the wa rnow, negotiate hostage release, and bring back peace, as this war doesnt help anybody except netanyahu , who was in court befroe this on 'corruption' charges,
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Our news said Israel's Iron Dome knocked down 90% of the missiles -- what happened to the others. No mention of that here.
paulio · M
@ChipmunkErnie yes and israel idf never tells the full truth ever, jus tlook and see what was destroyed, small victories can win a war, iran is avery big threat to israel they have a full military unlike hamas who have rockets and ak47s.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@paulio Turns out that not only Israel but several other countries, including Arab countries, worked at taking down those Iranian missiles.
At least two kids were injured by shrapnel, the 7-year-old-girl died.
paulio · M
@EarthlingWise what were kids doing up at 1 am in an air raid,
@paulio Sleeping. In a Bedouin village.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Perfect time to show Iran some pain.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@BittersweetPotato i would prefer government but I take it you prefer people. The military is a blunt instrument.
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@MasterLee oh really? How did you figure that I prefer people? It wasn't me who said lets show "iran" some pain.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@BittersweetPotato because of your implied question. Seemed clear you wanted to pick a fight.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
Agree completely but it's not going to happen.

Israel will retaliate. This could end in all our war.
They should, but they've got a nutter yahoo in charge.

@Aidankenny23 so you accused reason10 and then stated flatly every accusation was a confession...
@MasterLee I did. To be honest, I take that back.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Reason10 It's like how these jihadists make bombastic comments about wiping other civilisations because they are indoctrinated.

Oh wait... You just did that.
