Just from a strict diplomatic standpoint Iran’s strike was retaliation for the ambassy bombing

@Julien And they walked into Netanyahu's trap. It would have been smarter by far if Iran had taken its grievances to the UN and the international court in The Hague, and raised the issue through friends in the G20 and the Brics grouping.
They could have threatened retaliation and then held back. They could have won sympathy in the global south and from anti-western allies such as China and Russia

@SW-User I mean everyone expected the strike , US and the RAF had refueling plane all across Irak

@Julien A failed retaliation. And Israel did not strike an Iranian embassy
Julien · 36-40, M
@Puppycat23 they did. In Damas
Puppycat23 · F
@Julien It was a building next to the embassy that was hit.

@Puppycat23 agreed but some of their top ranking officers got killed in the process so of course they were going to use that excuse to attack Israel

@SW-User but they don’t get the propaganda win amongst iranian citizens.

@SW-User As if Iran would get justice at the Hague. No chance of that.

@Burnley123 no but they could have garnered sympathy among their allies, and could have showed restraint as they know it’s a war they cannot win
