Blinken declares Ukraine will become a member of NATO

Nothing new here.
Only America constantly flip-flopping over whom exactly qualifies as a U.S. ally these days.

There might be pro's to Russia reclaiming it's Putin considered 'fatherland'.

I mean for one it makes Russia responsible for it's 'defence'....but even daft political Americans know that 60%+ of Europe's grains come from or through Ukraine (that's why it's known as 'The bread basket of Europe') and you can't have one country hold thirty others to food ransom, especially since so many already are with regard to Russian oil.

Which is probably what ultimately this is all about.
@Picklebobble2 Funny you should ask. It happened because "Ukraine" with the "help" of the CIA blew up Nord Stream. And the US has threatened economic ruin to any nation "including EU nations" that use Russian gas through third parties which incidentally also increases the price.

The US achieved both goals. Made sure Europe is entirely dependent on the whims of the US again and they got their proxy war with Russia which of course only Europeans will die for.

I mean the mission statement of NATO should have been a hint. Keep Europe under America's thumb, and pick a fight with the Russians.

Oh and NATO has been a great way to violate the NPT pretty much from the day it was signed.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow ....can you hear me from under your MAGA tinfoil hat ?

America worked very hard to extricate itself from every treaty and standard it had signed up to in history during Trump's Presidency.
That sent a very clear signal to the rest of the world.

And you think anyone is going to be taking the same nonsense a second time around ?

Not gonna happen

Could be next century. Nobody says when.

And NATO isn't the EU. That would have to come first.

Talk about counting chickens before the eggs are laid.

The bear knows the difference between a bees nest and a hornet's nest BTW. No honey for one.

The EU is the honey jar for them. Not the USA or only NATO.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow this narrative is about Russian aggression.

And to go further there's Mongolia as well. The only reason it hasn't started there is China has the same plans!

Russia won't take on China before they already have resources from the EU.

Those two are not as friendly as it seems. They both put on a very good drama though.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I can understand your distaste for capitalism. Yet I in no way can support dictator's.

Both Russia and China are dictatorships. NOTHING MORE!

Aggression is their goal! Whether is physically (Russia) or other methods (China) both are aggressive dictatorships.

It's why China took over Tibet! It's why China was involved in Afghanistan! It's why China ATTACKED even India! It's why China wants Taiwan, it's why they claim the whole South China sea on down to the Philippines.

Heck they even are having disputes with Vietnam, and Vietnam is a so called communist country!

I have no love for capitalism yet dictatorships are only far worse!

The whole reason why there's an alliance, similar to NATO, between South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines and Australia is because of Chinese aggression!

Notice the USA is not involved, nor is ANY EU countries.
Blinken doesn't have the authority to make such proclamations.

Second NATO is in no position to fight a real war. The European members in particular turned out to be a paper tiger.

But Blinken already has Ukrainians dying for American politics so it is no surprise he would fight Russia to the last European.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Ha! Yes, how courageous of him! No sacrifice of Ukrainians is too great a price to pay!

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The only substantial culture in Europe is that of the Germans but Germany, like Japan, is occupied territory of the US. The French is an effeminate people unable to stand up against American hegemony. The rest of western Europe is weak. The UK is the only player of substance and is the devil behind the US poking the bear.
NATO would have to violate their own charter to even make it happen.
