Nothing new here.
Only America constantly flip-flopping over whom exactly qualifies as a U.S. ally these days.

There might be pro's to Russia reclaiming it's Putin considered 'fatherland'.

I mean for one it makes Russia responsible for it's 'defence'....but even daft political Americans know that 60%+ of Europe's grains come from or through Ukraine (that's why it's known as 'The bread basket of Europe') and you can't have one country hold thirty others to food ransom, especially since so many already are with regard to Russian oil.

Which is probably what ultimately this is all about.
@Picklebobble2 Instead now the EU is hostage to American LNG....which requires millions to build ports that don't exist yet and also by most estimates after that for the privilege of paying triple for their energy. Well on the positive note for Americans all German industry will be moving to North America and likely will only keep a post office box in Berlin for tax reasons.

I am sure that is a total accident.

Also, you ever wonder why EU farmers are spraying literal shit everywhere? Turns out banning your farmers from dealing with their one major customer has consequences.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow and why on earth would anyone buy gas from the U S. When it can be piped from Russia or Norway for the same price ?
@Picklebobble2 Funny you should ask. It happened because "Ukraine" with the "help" of the CIA blew up Nord Stream. And the US has threatened economic ruin to any nation "including EU nations" that use Russian gas through third parties which incidentally also increases the price.

The US achieved both goals. Made sure Europe is entirely dependent on the whims of the US again and they got their proxy war with Russia which of course only Europeans will die for.

I mean the mission statement of NATO should have been a hint. Keep Europe under America's thumb, and pick a fight with the Russians.

Oh and NATO has been a great way to violate the NPT pretty much from the day it was signed.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow ....can you hear me from under your MAGA tinfoil hat ?

America worked very hard to extricate itself from every treaty and standard it had signed up to in history during Trump's Presidency.
That sent a very clear signal to the rest of the world.

And you think anyone is going to be taking the same nonsense a second time around ?

Not gonna happen
